Store exterior. The “OIOI” is a symbolic representation of “Marui Marui.” In this case, “Maru” is the Japanese word for “circle,” and the “I” is pronounced with a long E sound. Maru-ee. Hence, “Marui City” department store.

This third time out was similar to the first, with comparatively tight spaces. Beyond the mural at right was the first room, called “The Birth.”

This room contained a wealth of development art and designs, along with the display case holding the original presentation books.

The next room, titled “Take Off” took you through the first five episodes.

“Trial” was a much bigger space with production materials for Episodes 6-15.

“Fierce Battle” covered Episodes 16-22.

“To Victory” took you to the end of the TV series.

The display case for sound effects got a new look.

Original sound effects tapes.

The exit area brought together autograph boards from the first two exhibitions and a display case with other materials.

The materials in the case were storyboards from Farewell to Yamato (1978) by Yasuhiko Yoshikazu.

Also included was the ultra-rare 35mm version of the Series 1 opening title without credit captions. It was thought to be lost forever until it was found in 2024.

New material appearing for the first time: a display case of background paintings. (Yamato interiors.)

Another background painting, the mining operation on Titan.

A separate room contained the series timeline panels, the Precision Cut Model, and new materials in display cases.
