Great Imperial Garmillas Astro Fleet

Zoellugut-Class 1st Class Astro Combat Vessel

Zoellugut first class astro battleship

Among the Garmillas astro fleet which aims to conquer space, there is one huge warship that dominates all others. As majestic as a temple in space — it is the first class astro super dreadnought battleship crowned the Zoellugut class.

The Zoellugut class is a unique ship personally spearheaded by Central Command Inspector-General Herm Zoellick, who is the most influential officer after Dessler. Known as a purebred radical fundamentalist, his attitude tended toward large ships with big guns, and he wanted a heavily armored ship for himself that exceeded the existing standards.

The armor that covers its huge body is first-rate for its strength and the might of its guns is unprecedented, the pride of Garmillas warships. Although the resultant loss of mobility was a pending issue from the design phase, its addition to the astro fleet was considered an urgent need. The ability to isolate the bridge deck to the point where it could separate and function as an independent vessel was a unique feature not found on other warships.

Three of these warships were constructed; the president had a seat aboard a ship of the same type named Deusuler I [blue], Zoellick had exclusive use of the Zoellugut II [red], and Senior General Eruk Domel was awarded the third, named Domelaze III [silver].

These three ships should have reigned as the symbol of the empire’s military power, but life is ephemeral; Deusuler I was destroyed by the scheming of Zoellick, Domelaze III was lost in the battle of the Rainbow Star Cluster, and only the Zoellugut II survived, losing its master and wandering in space.

The light and shadow surrounding General Domel

In addition to the president and the national field marshall, General Domel earned the third ship through his continued brilliance for military gains at each front. The ministry of information lionized him as a national hero and named him the “Wolf of Space.” As a young naval commander, the name of his ship had been Domelaze, and the Zoellugut class vessel that would become his flagship succeeded to the third generation of that name, Domelaze III. Placed at the head of the 6th armored task force, it was decorated with a color reminiscent of a “Silver Wolf,” and was dispatched to the Small Magellanic area where a savage tribe (Gatlantis) attempted frequent invasions. At the same time, his four staff officers followed the Domelaze III in Meltoria-class battle cruisers and fought with the agility and cunning of faithful guard dogs.

The exceptional treatment given to Domel when he was awarded a Zoellugut class, dispatched to the most important front of home defense and later transferred to the Milky Way Galaxy, steadily intensified his patriotism. Also, his fighting spirit rose to fever pitch as he pushed to further demonstrate his prowess.

However, as his prestige continued to rise through his meritorious service while in command of the Zoellugut class, Zoellick became increasingly uncomfortable with Domel’s national popularity. Before long, Domel was falsely charged as the ringleader of a presidential assassination plot. For this, he received the severe punishment of removal from his post.

Demotion to the poorest fleet,
the Domel Task Force

Domel was cleared of charges after Zoellick’s death, and Dessler gave him an imperial order to overthrow Yamato. It was Domel who had cornered Yamato once. This fight would give him an opportunity to regain his honor, and at the same time his fighting spirit blazed up again for a rematch of single combat against Yamato and Okita.

Fortunately for Domel, the Domelaze III had been held for him during his detention, making it possible for him to organize the temporary Domel Task Force around it. The new forces given to him by Vice-President Hiss consisted only of four spacecraft carriers crewed by veterans and rookies. However, Domel crafted a plan to capture Yamato as if he reveled in these deficits.

The Domel Task Force made use of secret weapons and a teleportation device in the decisive battle, but although Yamato was cornered by three astro units, the harsh environment of the Rainbow Star Cluster took Domel off his guard. Through the cleverness of the enemy commander, Okita, the bulky Domelaze III was swallowed by ion turbulence.

Though he was an able officer, the famous, tragic General who was placed at the mercy of the imperial powers met his fate when he was scattered into space in the silver coffin of his independent command ship.
