Binge-watching the TV series at year’s end sounds great. Just the act of watching Space Battleship Yamato on TV gets me excited. But I don’t subscribe to any satellite pay channels, streaming services, or other paid services, so I can’t watch it. Manga artists are poor, so I have to keep my distance from services that take money out of my pocket or my livelihood will collapse. Since I can’t even use card payments, many services won’t even let me in the door.

This weekend! Sneaking out of work to be on stage in Kamata.
Though I call it DJing, I can’t actually handle a DJ controller, so it’ll be more like playing pre-edited audio sources.
The soundtrack is from The New Voyage. This piece uses multiple tracks from the original work, deconstructing and rearranging the music to discover new charms in the familiar soundtrack. It’s titled Symphonic Suite 1979.
It’s a reworked version of a track I made for Koshigaya FM’s soundtrack program “2D Music Hall”, revising the timing and other aspects specifically for Soundtrack Pub. I’m nervous because it’s an event that always sells out, and I’m usually just an audience member!

Starting tomorrow, the Space Battleship Yamato Complete Record Exhibition opens at Marui City, Yokohama. I plan to visit on the 11th to coincide with Yamato Kouza [Lecture]. New materials have been added, and I want to try again for the goods I missed out on at the Osaka exhibition. Yokohama is within 30 minutes by train from Tokyo. If you saw it in Shibuya, please come see it again! They also carry my Yamato 2199 manga rough collection!

Yamaket, a Yamato-only doujinshi convention, resumes in April. I heard the number of circle applications has surpassed 50, approaching 60 – the highest ever. It’s now the largest Yamato event, far exceeding Comiket’s Yamato booth count.
The organizing committee asked for new logo ideas, so I proposed about seven designs with different directions. They’ll choose one, and then I’ll finalize it. Personally, I prefer Number 6 for its subtle, understated elegance and abstract quality, but I wonder which one they’ll pick.
The new Yamaket will be held on Sunday, April 12th, in Asakusabashi, Tokyo! Please come and join us.

Tomorrow, after Yamato Kouza concludes, I plan to tour the Space Battleship Yamato Complete Record Exhibition at Marui City with the speakers. Looking forward to the new exhibits. Hopefully, there’ll be some goods I missed buying in Osaka.
I hear Mr. Tamamori’s art book will also be available at the merchandise booth. Apparently, the publisher is gathering stock from bookstores nationwide, not just wholesalers. If you miss this, I think you won’t be able to get the physical book anymore. My own art book seems to be running out of stock at Kadokawa too, but I still have some rough manga collection books at home.

The Space Battleship Yamato Complete Record Exhibition is coming to Kyushu/Hakata! They say this spring, so March or April. I’d like to go if possible. But it usually coincides with the production schedule for Radio Suite Yamato, so we’ll see how it goes.

Still battling with mecha animation today…
