Reducing time
The Space Battleship Yamato, having repelled the attack of the evil Planet Gamilas, soared into space.
Earth’s underground cities were being infiltrated by radiation, and if they didn’t do something within the next year, humanity would be wiped out. At the suggestion of an emissary from the planet Iscandar, Yamato was to go and retrieve a device to remove radiation. However, their departure was far too hasty.
No performance tests had been conducted yet. In particular, the destination would take 296,000 light years round-trip at normal speed. To make that trip in one year, the travel time had to be significantly reduced. Captain Okita made the announcement to the entire crew.
“We’ll Warp and jump through time. That’s the only way.”
Gamilas fleet discovered
“Warping is a way to jump from one peak to the next in a wave of time, shortening the time at the bottom. However, the capability of the engine is the problem.”
“Captain, Yamato doesn’t have an ordinary engine. It has a Wave-Motion Engine.”
Tokugawa spoke with confidence. However, young Kodai and Shima were worried about whether they could really accomplish such an incredible feat.
“Prepare for warp! Increase engine speed!”
Upon receiving the captain’s order, Shima began to move.
“If my operation fails, Yamato will be destroyed. Not only that, we won’t be able to save humanity on Earth anymore.
“Mr. Shima, calm down.”
Yuki was gentle, and wiped away his sweat with her handkerchief. At that moment, Kodai cried out loud loudly.
“Gamilas fleet spotted!”
“They’ve come to interfere again, but we can’t use our weapons right now.”
“Captain, I’ll go chase them away.”
Kodai quickly launched.
Warp test
The Gamilas fleet fired their laser cannons.
“We absolutely have to make the warp test a success.”
Kodai, having boarded a zero fighter plane, led a team called the Black Tigers and fought against the Gamilas.
“Kodai. The test time limit is up. Return to Yamato.”
The captain’s orders were relayed.
“Hurry up. Yamato will start warping once it reaches the moon and we’ll arrive at Mars in less than a minute.”
Kodai and the Black Tiger team returned to Yamato. The countdown had already begun.
“5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0. Start!”
Shima flipped the warp switch. At that moment, the Gamilas fleet fired its laser cannons at Yamato.
Cracks in Yamato…
Yamato was in danger. The moment they thought that, the ship vanished into the sky as if it melted away.
The laser cannon should have hit its target, but it just passed right by.
Inside Yamato, which had vanished from sight, something unimaginable was happening. Dr. Sado, a physician, had his head stuck in a bottle of alcohol. However, Yamato emerged near Mars, bow first. They looked at the clock and it hadn’t even been a minute.
“We succeeded. With this, we can go to Iscandar and come back within a year.”
“Well done!”
The crew of Yamato was overjoyed. But at that moment, an emergency buzzer began to sound, signaling danger.
“What’s wrong?”
The scientist, Sanada cried out with a pale face.
“Captain, there’s a crack in Yamato!”
