  • If you could imagine a fleet of fictional ships with the Yamato as the flagship, which ships would they be, and which Yamato would you want?

The 2199 incarnation of Yamato is larger, has more diverse weaponry (read: cannon shells), has a more capable and heavily armed air group, and has the Wave Motion Shield.

    - Andromeda from Yamato 2/Comet Empire and several main battleships and escort carriers (though all need substantial up-arming).
    - The Domelaze and Deusler III from 2199 as well. They're just behemoths that are well-armed.
    - Battle Frontier and Macross Quarter from Macross Frontier
    - Britai's Nupetiet-Vergnitzs flagship from Macross: Ai Oboete Imasuka since the movie incarnation of the ship had a Reflex Cannon, which the TV version did not.
    - The Eclipse from the Star Wars: Dark Empire graphic novels.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

  • I'd actually set up a 2199-2200 Earth fleet that used Yamato and other recovered sea warships and the basis for a defense fleet before the new designs start to come out in 2201.

Some might not actually exist on the sea floor anymore, but it would be an interesting mix.

    Yamato would be the first

Followed by Bismark from the European Union (the hull is mostly intact presently)
Then several American battleship (presently museums) rebuilt. The four Iowa-class ships (Iowa, New Jersey, Missouri, and Wisconsin), Alabama, Massachusetts, and maybe North Carolina (not Texas...she's too small).
Then the sunken German carrier Graf Zepplin by the European Union.
Then the Japanese carrier Shinano and the battleship Musashi (Yamato's sister ships) being worked on when Yamato returns home, at which point they might save them for later as the new model ships begin construction.

These ships would be Earth's defense fleet until the new standarized battleships and Andromeda are built.

Though this was in the pre-Yamato 2199 mindset.
