Nico Nico Simulcast, August 4

Sayako Toujo and Shiki Aoki opened the show in their normal seats, announced that this was to be a three-hour
extravaganza, then they watched some pre-show footage of Aoki (out of cosplay) starting to assemble a
Cosmo Zero clear-plastic model kit. (Something else that made this an unusual ‘cast was Toujo’s new wig –
Yuri Misaki’s hair was down in recent episodes, so Toujo followed suit.)

Back to the show, and Aoki held up the finished portion of her Zero.
Then the others arrived one by one, starting with Rio Nanase as Kaoru Niimi.

Next in were Momoko Miyauchi as Makoto Harada, and Mochi Usagi as Yuki Mori.
Each brought in their hand-written greeting on a sign.

With all five joined together for the first time on camera, the chatter began. Half an hour in,
it was time for the double episode 18 & 19 broadcast, so they pulled out the Pocky and donned their earbuds.

They watched in rapt attention as usual, then introduced a new feature to the simulcast, a full-screen version
of the next episode trailer. Prior to this, no portion of any episode was actually shown on Nico Nico.

The second half of the simulcast began with Yamato News, and Shiki Aoki had some of her own, photos from a recent
Nana Mizuki concert. The Yamato connection comes from her performance of the Chapter 7 closing title theme.

Photos of good-luck bouquets revealed that one had been sent by Voyager Entertainment producer
Shoji Nishizaki, and another had come from the Yamato 2199 Production Committee.

After the news segment, it was announced that after this episode viewers could purchase 2199 merchandise signed
by all five of the Yamato Girls. Then pinup idol Shiori Kawana joined the show, talked about her experience cosplaying
at Comic Con, amazed the others with her ability to speak English, then got up to strike some poses.

After demonstrating her craft (and her cleavage), Kawana demonstrated her drawing skill
when Shiki Aoki challenged everyone to draw their own version of Analyzer.

Sayako Toujo was next, followed by Rio Nanase.

Mochi Usagi’s Analyzer went into different territory, and Momoko Miyauchi’s sketch went even farther.

Finally, Shiki Aoki’s version was open to the imagination, simply saying “FRIEND.”
Toujo thought it needed a little more, and add her own touches.

In the last part of the show, Kawana coached each of the girls to strike
their own pinup poses, starting with Usagi and Miyauchi.

Nanase and Toujo made a game of it…

…and when Shiki proved a bit self-conscious, Toujo came to the rescue.
Kawana departed, and it was time to recreate favorite scenes from today’s episodes.

After some more of this, it was time to say goodbye. First the Garmillas salute…

…then the UNCF counterpart. Shiki finished with her standard sendoff line: “Yamato no shoku…mata-o.”

And now, since we finally have all five Yamato girls in one place, let’s review them one by one.
