About Major Alphon
See the original post here
Lieutenant Alphon was didn’t get his due in the original work. However, Major Alphon in 3199 is also a fighter, and thanks to the concept that allows him to send his consciousness to another body, he can go head to head with both Kodai and Yuki, so I can imagine that there will be many highlights. His face is much cooler in 3199, and I prefer Major Alphon to the original.
I’m going off topic, but I once drew a fanzine in which the Dark Nebula Empire invaded Earth in order to get the hair of Earthlings, and the punchline was that Lieutenant Alphon was actually wearing a wig (lol). That’s how many bald people there are in the Dark Nebula Empire. It must be difficult to draw distinctly different characters with so many bald people.
I expect that Yamato will engage in battle with Grodez in Chapter 3, but will escape without being able to deliver the final blow.
After that, Yamato will be involved in the war between the Garmillan Empire and the Bolar Federation, and will defeat Chairman Bemlayze. Dessler will remain in the galaxy to wipe out the remaining Bolar enemies, while Yamato will head to the center of the galaxy.
Along the way, Yamato will destroy the Dezarium intermediate base and will likely have a final battle with Grodez again at the Dezarium home planet, which exists in another universe. When they land on the Dezarium home planet, Kodai and Major Alphon will face off directly, and Kodai will likely win. Major Alphon will lose his spare body, and just like in the original, his main body will be sniped by Earth partisans in the Grand Reverse, ending his life.
In the original, the fleet that had occupied Earth pursued Yamato, and the Dezarium ground forces that were left behind were easily defeated by the partisans. Will that happen in 3199? If the Dezarium fleet had remained on Earth, the partisans would not have been able to defeat them alone, so how will that be portrayed?
I can’t help but imagine all sorts of things, but I’m really looking forward to the release of the third chapter!!

About Sasha
See the original post here
Whether 3199 will be a masterpiece that surpasses Be Forever will depend on how Sasha is treated.
When I wrote about 2199, I said that remakes shouldn’t change the original work too much, but Be Forever handled Sasha poorly, so that part should be changed. In conclusion, Sasha should survive.
Yamato got used to the route of making people emotional by having someone die in Farewell and Yamato 2. I think it was unavoidable from a story perspective, but I wonder if Starsha in A New Voyage, Mamoru and Sasha in Be Forever, Domon and Ageha in III, and Shima in Final Yamato needed to die.
Especially for Sasha, with both Starsha and Mamoru dead, I can’t help but wonder what a mother would say to her daughter who is left all alone. “Sacrifice yourself for the Earth.” Moreover, isn’t the impressionable period from birth to age 17 just as important, if not more so, than the period from 18 to death? That period ends in only a year, and she was just getting started in life, but she sacrifices herself for the Earth and ends it all. It’s just too tragic for words.
Even if Sasha is fine with being the heroine of Yamato‘s current voyage, we know that if Yuki returns, she’ll be in the way. So, once this voyage is over, she should disembark Yamato, go to the Garmillan Empire, become Mrs. Dessler, and take Yuki’s place on Yamato. We’re not in the Showa era anymore, so I think it’s OK to make this much of a change.
Since the Garmillan Empire was rebuilt on the Garmillan home planet Galman, shouldn’t it be OK to rebuild Iscandar on its twin planet, Starsha? I think it’s okay for Sasha, who was so unrewarded, to find happiness in 3199. The story in Be Forever is too sloppy, so I want them to revise what needs to be revised and make it into a masterpiece that leaves a good aftertaste for everyone.
In that sense, I have high hopes for 3199.

About Osamu Yamanami
See the original post here
Today I’m going to write about Yamanami.
In the original, Yamanami became the captain of Yamato and said that he would treat the crew of Yamato, who were veteran heroes, as “rookies.” Even I, who was an elementary school student at the time, thought “That’s a bit…” Even in the Showa era, it’s not something a person in a position of authority should say.
In comparison, Yamanami in the remake feels more approachable, his gentle personality seems more relaxed, and he seems like a leader. I think Yamanami is a prime example of a character who has improved in the remake. That’s why I feel it will be a shame if he dies in battle in 3199. I think it’s time to end the trend of having someone die to get a moving story.
Even so, how does it feel for someone who was completely defeated by the overwhelming Garmillan fleet in the Battle of Pluto to be the captain of Yamato, which defeated the Garmillan fleet alone? Unlike the original, this time the battle with Dezarium will be a long one, and there will probably be a battle with the Bolar Federation, so Yamanami will have many scenes to shine.
Let’s look forward to seeing Yamanami in action in 3199.

About Skaldart
See the original post here
In the original, Skaldart would have been defeated if he had used a straightforward approach by pushing Goruba and the Dezarium home planet to the forefront, but he ended up destroying himself by using the sneaky tactic of pretending to be an Earthling from the future. Even I, a primary school student at the time, was left speechless by the sheer audacity of their tactics. This time the story is longer, and there must be a reason why he’s calling himself an Earthling from the future.
The reason Dezarium uses the name of Earthlings from the future and does not use violence was examined in an earlier blog post. As I wrote, Dezarium’s first goal is to obtain Cosmo Reverse and reclaim Dezarium’s home planet, which has been eroded by wave energy. If they fail, they will detonate the Grand Reverse and take over the bodies of the Earthlings.
However, Dezarium’s plan was greatly derailed when they let Sasha escape and board Yamato, which is heading for Dezarium’s home planet.
Skaldart seems to have a calm expression now, but as Yamato gets closer, I’m sure his hideous face will become more distorted. But he is merely in a position like a “prime minister,” while Mother Dezarium is more like a “head of state.” Mother Dezarium may also have some kind of secret.
I’m really running out of things to write, so I hope some information will be released by next week.

About Kozo Nanbu
See the original post here
It’s okay because it’s an anime, but if there were someone like Kozo in the real world, it would be dangerous. He easily believes what the aliens say and even accepts immigration. Even if they are real Earthlings from the future, doesn’t he think there will be friction with Earthlings if he allows them in, and even deaths may occur, or the future may change? It’s scary that such a person is a big shot in the financial world and has influence on the government.
I suppose there is a scenario in which it is revealed that Kozo did it to deceive the Dezarium people, or realizes his mistake and sacrifices his own life to save the Earth. But personally, I would like him to be arrested by the Earth government after defeating Dezarium and be executed for inviting foreign aggression.
It seems there will be a showdown between father and son in Chapter 3, but I wish Yasuo would just shoot him dead without asking questions, like Dessler in the original.
By the way, in Chapter 2 there was no convincing explanation for why Kozo and the others believed Dezarium’s story, so I wonder if things will continue this way in Chapter 3. 2202 also didn’t explain why Dessler joined up with General Talan and the others. The remakes are full of logic, but they don’t explain the most important things.
Chapter 3 comes out nearly five months after Chapter 2, so I’ve run out of material for my blog. Chapter 2 is four episodes long, so I wish it was just three months. I think there will be a voyage at the beginning of next week, so I think I’ll be able to write a more proper article then.
