The giant object from Dezarium (called the “Grand Reverse”) intrudes into Earth’s solar system and gets fired upon, presumably by Bolar ships.
Boroze’s voice: Another light…the light of Uralia, the witch’s breath at the center of the galaxy that freezes the universe.
We see Boroze and Rebarus (who we met at the beginning of 2205 looking on in shock as their beams have no effect. They’re part of a Bolar contingent running raids on the edge of the solar system.
The Grand Reverse shoots past a field of debris and continues flying away toward the 11th planet.
We don’t yet know exactly what Uralia is, but we can speculate that they’re talking about the “witch spirit” residing within Dezarium itself. “Uralia” is not a new term; it was the original name for the Dark Nebula Empire in Hideaki Yamamoto’s early 1979 script treatment for The New Voyage.

The Grand Reverse arrives at Earth’s doorstep to be met by Seiya Kitano and his fleet of Asuka-class ships.

Seven wave-motion barrier missiles fail to stop its advance.
Elsewhere, Domon asks about a new machine.
Domon: Is this something that was pre-programmed into the ship?

A Dezarium Pleiades ship bursts through a cloud of smoke, just above an Earth Patrol Ship.
Kodai, carrying an analog rifle, fires at an unseen adversary.
Commander Todo resolutely gives his orders as Dezarium soldiers descend from the sky.
Todo: Activate Operation DAD! (Yes, he pronounces it “dad.” Not D.A.D.)
Yuki, holding a rifle, is taken aback by something unseen.
Dezarium troopers rain hellfire…
…on Earth’s Cosmo Marine mobile armors and a Garmillas tank.
Earth’s Autonomous fleet of Ajax ships lose functionality, allowing the Grand Reverse to break through Earth’s atmosphere.
Offscreen voice: Systems down! Uncontrollable!

Seiya Kitano looks into the camera.
Seiya Kitano: This was expected.
That’s why I’ve gathered all of you experienced people here aboard Asuka.
Earth citizens, including Makoto Kato and her son Tsubasa, stand in the capital city with bewildered looks.

Dezarium tripods systematically torch the city with surgical precision.
Yuki: Kodai-kun!
Yuki, running to join Kodai aboard an evacuation craft, is shot in the shoulder from afar. Most likely by Alphon, if the original film is anything to go by.
Kodai: Yuki!
Todo’s voice: I want you to remember that Dezarium isn’t the only enemy in this battle..
A flustered looking Nanbu sits in the back of what looks like a limo. (Remember, he’s the son of a very rich weapons manufacturer.) Ota and Aihara are in the front seats.
Nanbu’s father Kozo calmly bears witness to Dezarium’s paratroopers descending on the city from inside a tall skyscraper.
Back at EFDC command, a middle aged woman (new character) appears to confront Commander Todo, her gaze stone cold.
Side note from Tim Eldred: in our unfinished comic book adaptation of Be Forever (see it here) a similar character – also female – tries to leverage power in the Earth government by becoming a collaborator with the Dezarium invaders. I get the same vibe here, but let’s see how it goes.)
A shielded Ginga smashes into the hull of a Pleiades with full force, and we see Saki Todo in command.
Analyzer’s mutilated frame from 2202 lights up perhaps, broadcasting a message.
AU09 (New): Assemble, assemble, assemble. Yamato fleet crew, assemble.
Seated in a V.R. cockpit at an undisclosed location, Shima appears to pilot a Gladiator from afar. It doesn’t look like he’s winning.

Quick shots of Domon and Dr. Sado, who has himself a cup of sake at Hero’s Hill (remarkably relaxed as the capital burns in the distance).
Shinohara, now promoted to Captain of Hyuga, is jolted out of his comfort zone. Perhaps he’s responding to Dezarium or Bolar forces?
Close up of Caroline Raiden, most likely in her mobile armor
Quick shot of Sakamoto in his cockpit. Commanders Todo and Serizawa observe HQ’s digital status screen with resolute expressions.
Kodai, reaching out from the evacuation craft, struggles to pull Yuki up with him. (Same hands seen in the original film.)

Elsewhere, likely on Icarus, Sasha blinks and glances toward Sanada.
Yamato stands ready and refurbished, encased in rocks from Asteroid Base Icarus.
Caption: The new Space Battleship Yamato is launching!
Lt. Alphon, unmasked, gets a close look at something (you can probably guess). His eyes lack the Dezarium eyeliner.
We get a repeat shot of what’s most likely Earth’s sun going out of control, a hint at this story’s connections to Yamato III.
Finally, a view of Yamato‘s gun barrels with the new stripes. Each one represents a mission flown.
