Japanese anime began with Space Battleship Yamato, which was broadcast half a century ago on October 6, 1974.

I don’t think I would be who I am today if I hadn’t encountered the epochal work Space Battleship Yamato at that time.

With gratitude and respect for the enormous debt I owe to Yamato and the impact it had on my life, I have planned and produced this exhibition in the hope that as many people as possible will see it, learn about it, be moved by it, and pass it on to the world.

First of all, I will be happy if the greatness and fun of Space Battleship Yamato is conveyed to the hearts of those who come to the exhibition, and that it will help to ensure that Yamato will be remembered at its 100th anniversary.

Thank you very much.
