With the eternal love of Kodai and Yuki on board, Final Yamato GO!!

Released by Toei in March

Only two months left until the release! With the high hopes of many fans, Yamato‘s final journey is about to begin. Keep your eye on the exploits of Susumu Kodai and the rest of the Yamato crew!!

After ten years of history, Yamato is now fully engaged!

It has been exactly ten years since the first Space Battleship Yamato project was planned in 1973. The path that Yamato has taken during this time overlaps perfectly with the history of the anime boom.

Farewell to Yamato was the biggest hit in anime history, attracting an audience of 4 million people. Since then, the TV special The New Voyage and the film Be Forever Yamato have been released, and now we have the final installment.

For the past ten years, Yamato has consistently depicted the theme of “love and battle.” The Final Chapter will be a culmination of that story with a magnificent climax.

Yuki watches over Kodai, who was injured in the first battle against Dengil. Her earnest prayers are answered, and Kodai is revived from the brink of death, performing brilliantly in the final battle! And the time will come when they will be united as one by their love.

Furthermore, the last ten minutes depicting the fierce battle between Yamato and Dengil will be a spectacle worthy of the finale of Yamato! What kind of end will it be…?!

1,000 staff members mobilized!!

Since Yamato is a large-scale production, the number of staff reached 1,000. This is nearly double the number of people used in a normal anime production. Various technical innovations were also put into the production, and in the scenes for the water planet Aquarius travels through space, the research film was 8,000 feet long, about three times the amount of footage used in a 30-minute anime. An amazing 4,500 celes were used! In addition, a new technology called Scanimate was used to realistically depict natural phenomenae.

Main characters decided!!

As befitting the finale of Yamato, this chapter features an all-star cast of characters. The most talked about highlight is the return of Juzo Okita, the ship’s first captain, who was thought to be dead. He miraculously recovered from the brink of brain death and once again commands Susumu Kodai and the others as captain of Yamato. Not to be missed are Dessler, who sides with Earth, and Sanada, who plays an active role on the technical team.

Yamato‘s voyage

Yamato rushes to Dessler’s palace to rescue the planet, which has been damaged by Aquarius. Afterward, it warps to the vicinity of Planet Dengil to avoid damage caused by a stellar explosion. Eventually, it engages in battle with the Dengil fleet near the ninth planet, and returns to Earth. Then, with Okita as captain once again, it heads to the battlefield against Dengil.

The ambition of the Dengil Empire, which has lost its home planet

This time, the enemy threatening Earth is the Dengil Empire, a nation with formidable scientific power. Their home planet was flooded by the water planet Aquarius, leaving them homeless. Dengil’s grand commander Lugal, along with his son Lugal II, hatches a plan to move to Earth aboard the giant city satellite Uruk!

To achieve this, they plan to use super thermonuclear energy on Aquarius and flood the Earth. With Aquarius getting closer and closer to Earth, what kind of battle will Yamato put up?!
