The inside cover contained another model kit ad from Bandai (now sharing space with Gatchaman II. Right up front were two Yamato 2 bonus features: a “calendar card” for February, and two pages of DIY collector’s cards showing characters and mecha.

There were two pages of these cards, one for good guys and one for bad guys. Handy for quick ID purposes, so keep them on you at all times.

Next up, a mini-article titled All About the Wave-Motion Gun.

It consisted of two pages with a rundown of Yamato‘s mightiest weapon.

A new ad from Nomura Toys faced the opening page of Leiji Matsumoto’s latest manga chapter.

This one consisted of 21 pages (the first five in color) and succeeded in getting Yamato out of the ocean and into the air. That’s literally all the action this chapter contained. For those keeping score, Matsumoto’s version of the story was now 8 chapters in with 8 more to come.
