As a fan, it is natural to be concerned about Yamato‘s future. Our editorial staff was also curious about the future of Yamato, so we went to the Academy production site and we received the scripts up to Episode 19. Unfortunately, Episode 19 should have already aired by the time this magazine goes on sale. But here is the digest anyway.
Episode 17: Telezart, disperse into space!
The Comet Empire is 27 days from Earth, one day from Telezart, and three days behind Yamato. If things continue as they are, Yamato and Telezart are destined to be blown away by the comet empire. Despite Shima’s fears, Teresa stays on Telezart to challenge the Comet Empire, which is closing in on Telezart. The Empire, stunned by Teresa’s light, finally halts its advance.
Episode 18: The decisive battle! All ships, combat-ready!
While the Comet Empire is wounded, Yamato piles warp upon warp. Meanwhile, the Comet Empire sends out its vanguard fleet toward the solar system. Hijikata, sensing this on Titan, decides on his own to gather the outer fleet to Saturn. Dessler, imprisoned by the Comet Empire, holds Sabera at gunpoint. He escapes with Talan and joins the Gamilas fleet, which has secretly launched from the Small Magellanic Cloud.
Episode 19: Yamato, collision in warp!
Yamato is hurrying back to Earth, but Saito insists on stopping at the 11th planet, where his comrades-in-arms are buried. Despite his initial refusal, Kodai sends Saito there in the name of exploration. However, advance forces of the Baruze fleet are there. Yamato wipes them out with the Wave-Motion Gun. For the sake of the Earth fleet, which had been blinded by the destruction of the surveillance satellites at Neptune, Yamato warps to Saturn with data on the Baruze fleet.
Is Teresa really dead? How will Yamato fight the giant empire? What will happen with Kodai and Yuki’s love affair? The ending is a secret until the very end.
