Dreadnought
A new battleship that plays a leading role in the Wave-Motion Gun fleet concept
The Dreadnought class was developed to be the mainstay of the Wave-Motion Gun fleet concept, which was conceived and promoted after the war against Garmillas. Based on technology obtained through the new alliance with Garmillas, the Dreadnought class has the characteristics of a ship equipped with a Wave-Motion Engine, and can be a considered a mass-produced version of the Yamato class.
Its name, which is the same as that of a historic battleship of the 20th century, means “fearless” and it took on the name “class D” using the initial. Its official designation is “mass-produced high-capability armed operation system D1.”
Construction of this class was carried out in Time Fault dock using technology licensed from Garmillas. The Wave-Motion Gun fleet, with the Andromeda class at its core, was deployed in full-scale combat during the White Comet’s invasion of the solar system. In the Battle of Saturn, it engaged the Gatlantis Seventh Task Fleet led by Baruze. With its power and quantity, it defeated the enemy fleet. However, the Wave-Motion Gun fleet was heavily damaged by the White Comet “City Empire” that appeared shortly after, and many ships of this class were lost.

Hull Structure
The Dreadnought class was designed based on the structure of the Garmillas Gaiderol type space battleships, and was developed prior to the Andromeda class. The structure of the Dreadnought class has a long, straight hull with a large conning tower, different from the conventional rounded naval combat ships of the previous Earth Forces. The Andromeda class, an advanced version of this class, also shares this structure. In addition, many of the gunnery weapons are the same as those used on the Andromeda class, and boast very high offensive power.
Armament/gimmicks
The Dreadnought class, which is equipped with a Wave-Motion Engine, is armed with a new type of Wave-Motion Gun. Its structure is different from that of the Yamato and Andromeda classes, characterized by two chambers arranged in a series. When the Wave-Motion Gun fires radiation, each chamber emits a right wave and a left wave in series, separated by the splitter (energy jet splitter rectifier plate) inside the cannon, which is then released as a diffuse Wave Energy jet. The crew is about 150, and like the Andromeda class, it is designed to be labor-saving.

Mars Defense Front specifications
An unmanned version of the Dreadnought class, characterized by its orange hull color
The Earth Federation Defense Force’s buildup, based on the Wave-Motion Gun fleet concept, was accelerated following the Gatlantis invasion of the solar system. The Time Fault factory increased production of both Earth and Garmillas combat ships. At the same time, the reduction of manpower was explored through the introduction of AI, leading to the formation of an unmanned fleet.
As part of this process, the Dreadnought class (class D), the main ship of the Wave-Motion Gun fleet concept, was designed to be unmanned and was deployed to the Mars absolute defense zone. This particular model was characterized by its orange hull color.
During the battle in the Mars absolute defense zone, two ships were used as warp boosters when connected to the advanced armed spaceship ZZZ-0001 Andromeda-Kai. They were used in a surprise attack on the comet city from directly above. However, in the fierce battle, they took a direct hit from the Gaisengan weapon group and the self-destructing attack ship “Eater I.” In the end, they were detached from the Andromeda-Kai and abandoned.

Hull and bridge structure
The Dreadnought class with Mars Defense Front specifications does not differ from the regular class in hull structure or artillery. A gravity anchor is used to connect the Dreadnought to an Andromeda. The Dreadnought class is not only a warp ship, but also functions as a booster during normal navigation. It is possible to operate its artillery weapons by autonomous control, which greatly enhanced Andromeda Kai‘s combat power.
Bridge
The Earth Defense Force, cornered by the overwhelming numbers of Gatlantis, expanded its military power with the production capacity of the Time Fault. At the same time, the Earth Forces proceeded with the development of unmanned weapons and artificial soldiers to supplement its manpower resources, which were reaching their limits. This version was autonomous and unmanned. The bridge retained conventional specifications, but the crew shells and onboard aircraft were omitted.
Time Fault Control Ship Prometheus
The central ship of the Time Fault, converted from the Dreadnought class
The Time Fault was an anti-gravity singularity generated by the Cosmo Reverse system brought back from Iscandar by Yamato. The emergence of an alternate dimension, where time moves forward at ten times the speed of the outside world, was a godsend for Earth, which was in urgent need of reconstruction and rearmament after the Garmillas War.
The Earth Federation government concealed its existence and proceeded to mass-produce ships equipped with Wave-Motion engines at a munitions factory built inside. However, the Time Fault was not an environment in which humans could function for long periods of time, so the factory needed life-support facilities for its personnel. For this purpose, a Time Fault control ship, the Prometheus, was prepared.
Prometheus was a modified Dreadnought class main battleship built as a control unit for the Time Fault’s internal factory. By repurposing the warp system, the flow of time inside the ship was slower than that of the Time Fault, allowing the ship to sustain life inside. As a control room for the factory within the Fault, this ship supported the mass production of ships equipped with Wave-Motion engines. This led to the realization of the Earth Federation Defense Forces’ Wave-Motion Gun fleet concept.
Hull Structure
The concept of Prometheus is based on the repurposing of the dimensional inertial canceller installed on the Dreadnaught class. What is a dimensional inertial canceller? It is a device that corrects the difference between the speed of warp acceleration and the passage of time on Earth. By operating it constantly, the ship can stay inside the Time Fault for long periods, where the flow of time is different from that of the outside world. Therefore, there was no need to modify the hull structure, and the guns and other weapons remain intact.
Bridge
The bridge of Prometheus has been expanded from that of the Dreadnought class to ensure its function as a Time Fault control ship. The number of operator seats was increased significantly. In addition, the bridge windows are all sealed to prevent the effects of the Time Fault, so external information is displayed on a video screen. This is thought to be the center of the factory inside the fault, controlling the facilities and supervising the work.

Earth Defense Front Specifications
Dreadnought class unmanned ship that supported the final line of defense on Earth
Gatlantis showed its overwhelming power by destroying the Wave-Motion Gun fleet of the Earth Federation Defense Force at the Battle of Saturn. However, the Earth government still insisted on an all-out war, and increased the production of Wave-Motion Gun-equipped ships in its Time Fault factory to improve its defensive posture.
The Dreadnought class was at the center of this effort. A version with dark blue coloring was referred to as “Earth Defense Front Specifications.” Construction of the Dreadnought class was carried out in advance of the strategy to make Mars orbit an absolute defense zone against Gatlantis.
The structure of this class was unchanged, but in keeping with the direction of Earth’s naval vessels at the time, it was unmanned in order to reduce manpower. Deployment began immediately after the Battle of Saturn. In the Mars Absolute Defense fight, it was deployed in large numbers as Earth’s main force in the Earth-Garmillas combined fleet. It was also used as a warp booster for the Andromeda Black (BBB), an autonomous unmanned combat ship.

Hull Structure
The Earth Defense Front version is characterized by a dark blue color with some red, but its structure has not been changed from the normal specifications. The configuration of its artillery is also the same as that of the manned version, including the Dreadnought class’ symbolic Dimensional Wave-Motion Implosion Emitter (Dispersion Wave-Motion Gun) on the bow.
The Dreadnought class had a combat power comparable to that of Gatlantis ships, but its firepower was no match for the defensive field of the Comet City Empire, and was defeated by Gatlantis’ overwhelming numbers.
Structure of Each Part
According to one theory, the Dreadnought class was designed and developed in simulations on board Yamato during the voyage to Iscandar. However, the class was completed after the war with official technical support from Garmillas. Even if this theory is true, it is not certain how much influence it had on the final design. It is believed that the Earth Defense Front version was designed for AI-control and unmanned, and underwent a major change from the original concept.
Patrol Ship
A patrol vessel equipped with Wave-Motion engines that excel in speed
The Patrol Ship is a combat vessel built in accordance with the Earth Federation Defense Forces’ Wave-Motion Gun fleet concept. The name “patrol” may have been given to the ship because it was designed for patrol use, with an emphasis on speed. Although its size and firepower are not as large as those of the main battleship class D (Dreadnought class), it has the capability to operate a small Wave-Motion Gun and Wave-Motion Barrier.
It is capable of carrying out long-term independent missions that do not involve fleet operations. By taking advantage of its high speed, its operational flexibility is no less than that of class D. In addition to the aforementioned small Wave-Motion Gun, it is equipped with a positron turret, torpedo tubes, and missile launchers, giving it a high combat capability that exceeds that of older vessels.
One example of their use is their deployment to the Enceladus garrison, where they engaged with Baruze’s vanguard fleet in the Battle of Saturn. The fleet had two ships, one painted as squadron leader and one in standard colors. Both were presumably destroyed before the main fleet arrived from Earth.
Performance Specifications
Class: Light Armored Cruiser
Length: 188m
Width: 42.2m
Crew: 9 officers and 46 enlisted men
Armament:
1 small Wave-Motion Gun (bow)
3 twin turrets
4 triple torpedo launchers
8 missile launchers
Aircraft: 1 liaison aircraft (with landing port underneath)
Hull Structure
The patrol ship is characterized by its cylindrical hull shape. It is said that German design and the metric system were used. The artillery includes a small Wave-Motion Gun in the bow, a positron turret (known as the MK.12 twin 127mm guns), and two triple torpedo tubes (MK. 32, 324mm) on each side of the front of the hull. In addition, behind the lower twin turret is the departure and landing port of carrier-based aircraft (presumed to be a Cosmo Seagull).
Bridge
The radar system on the upper bridge and lower hull is thought to be designed for patrolling and searching for enemies during independent missions. The radar on the bridge is equipped with blue rotating lights and holographic signal flags to communicate with other vessels during fleet operations. The signal flags can be displayed in four rows on each side of the bridge. It is said that these flags evolved from the international signal flags and NATO signal flags of the previous centuries.
Escort Ship
A small Wave-Motion Gunship designed to expand the Wave-Motion Gun fleet
The escort ship was built after the war against Garmillas based on the Wave-Motion Gun fleet concept. It is equipped with the Wave-Motion Engine of the Earth Federation Defense Forces. The class D (Dreadnought) was to be the main force of the fleet, but as the battle against the Gatlantis expanded, it became essential to expand the fleet. The need for more productive vessels arose, so a smaller, more easily mass-produced frigate was developed. This became the escort ship. Less than half the size of the Dreadnought class, it combines the offensive power of the Wave-Motion Gun with high mobility, and has excellent cost performance.
The mass-produced escort ships were deployed to the front lines in preparation for the Gatlantis invasion of the solar system. Twenty of them were deployed to the Enceladus defense fleet in Saturn space. However, in their first engagement they were unable to fully demonstrate their mobility in the high-gravity environment, and were forced to struggle against the Gatlantis vanguard fleet led by Baruze.
Performance Specifications
Class: frigate
Length: 113.3m
Width: 18.5m
Crew: 6 officers and 38 enlisted men
Armament:
1 small Wave-Motion Gun (bow)
3 twin turrets
4 double anti-aircraft pulse laser turrets (aft)
4 triple torpedo tubes
2 large torpedo tubes (below bow)
2 quadruple missile launchers (at the side of the bridge)
2 quadruple anti-ship grenade launchers (on the side of the bridge base)
Aircraft:
1 liaison aircraft (landing port at the bottom of the ship)
Hull Structure
The hull structure of the escort ship is similar to that of the patrol ships developed at the same time. The bridge is located slightly aft of the top of the cylindrical hull, and the main guns and main propulsion engine are installed at the front and tail, respectively. The design can be described as a downsizing of the patrol ship. It is unclear which came first, but it is thought that the design was diverted to improve productivity.
Small Wave-Motion Gun
The most powerful piece of artillery on an escort vessel is the small Wave-Motion Gun on the bow. The Wave-Motion gun, which is considered the strength of a ship equipped with a Wave-Motion engine, is a dimensional Wave-Motion implosion emitter. Despite its small size, this ship is equipped with one. In addition, it wields a positron turret (Mk. 33, also known as a 3-inch twin gun) and a triple torpedo launcher (Mk. 32, 324mm).
Kongo-Kai class Battleship Yunagi
Post-war Earth Federation Defense Force main battleship that applies Wave-Motion theory
The Kongo-Kai type space battleship Yunagi is known as the ship captained by Susumu Kodai, Yamato‘s tactical chief who completed the voyage to the Iscandar, after his return to Earth. The Kongo type space battleships, represented by Yunagi, were the main ships of the Earth Federation Defense Force, built when the space fleet was reorganized in the aftermath of the Garmillas War.
The reorganization of the fleet, which was carried out behind the scenes in parallel with the Wave-Motion Gun fleet concept, was realized by renovating old ships built before 2199. The Kongo-Kai was one such ship. It follows the basic design of Kongo class space battleships such as Kirishima, while applying the Wave-Motion theory cultivated by Yamato.
Among them, Yunagi (identification number U.N.C.F. 00885-2201) is a ship that achieved great results in the Operation to recapture the 8th Floating Continent. It was a good example that proved the performance of the Kongo-Kai type in actual combat. She was the leader of the 47th squadron, 2nd Destroyer Escort when she took part in the battle and sank a Medalusa-class destroyer in the midst of Gatlantis’ vanguard fleet.
Performance Specifications
Length: 205m
Armament: 46cm positron impact cannon (fixed to the bow)
4 36cm triple-positron shock cannon turrets
8 torpedo tubes
16 missile tubes
Many anti-space machine guns
Hull Structure
As mentioned above, the Kongo-Kai inherits the basic design of the Kongo class, and there is almost no difference in appearance. Its main feature is the conversion of the main engine, a new model equipped with a Wave-Motion core, which enables hyperspace navigation. In addition to Yunagi, other ships of the same type include the Shimakaze, Taiconderoga, Independence, Habadoton, and Sugarloaf. The five-digit number in the identification code of each ship is the production number. The last four digits indicate the year of production.
Armament/gimmicks
The Kongo-Kai class has strengthened artillery along with the replacement of the main engine. The positron shock cannon on the bow has been enlarged from the 36cm of the Kongo class to 46cm. In addition, the main gun has been replaced with a positron-impact turret with increased output. (The previous model was equipped with a high-pressure amplified beam cannon.) On the other hand, no major modifications have been made to the bridge, and the internal structure remains unchanged from the Kongo class. In addition to Susumu Kodai, former Yamato crew members such as Nanbu Yasuo and Yoshikazu Aihara were also on board Yunagi.
Assault Space Destroyer Isokaze-Kai
A modified destroyer that supported the Earth Federation Defense Forces after the war against Garmillas
The Isokaze-Kai assault space destroyer was built in conjunction with the reorganization of the naval fleet after the war against Garmillas. It is based on the Isokaze class assault space destroyer, one of the older ships that fought hard during the Battle of Garmillas in 2199. It is equipped with a new type of Wave-Motion Engine based on the Wave theory of Yamato.
The high maneuverability that was a characteristic of previous ships has been further improved, allowing for more agile maneuvering. It was planned to be in service until the new ships based on the Wave-Motion Gun fleet concept came online. In the meantime, it was responsible for the defense of Earth along with the Kongo-kai space battleship and Murasame-kai space cruiser. The modified design data of these older ships were provided to various countries, and mass production was carried out.
In the battle against Gatlantis, it was deployed with other modified old-type vessels in the Operation to recapture the 8th Floating Continent. Ten ships participated, from TB-100 to TB-109 (TB stands for Torpedo Boat). In 2202, the TBs were not given their own names, but rather were referred to by the ship’s number.
Performance Specifications
Class: Assault space destroyer
Length: 80m
Armament:
2 12.7cm triple-positron shock cannon turrets
2 12.7cm anti-ship guns
3 torpedo tubes
8 missile tubes
Hull Structure
The hull structure of the Isokaze-Kai is almost the same as that of the base Isokaze class, and its appearance is the same except for the hull color. The main modification is the conversion of internal mechanisms such as the main engine and guns. The main gun is a positron shock cannon turret with enhanced output over the previous high-compression amplified beam cannon. The caliber and number of guns is the same. The space torpedoes loaded into the torpedo tubes are also a new type.
Bridge
The Isokaze-Kai is classified as a destroyer, but was originally regarded as a corvette. In fact, at 80 meters in length, it was less than half the length of the destroyers in service in 2202. As a result, few people were needed to operate the ship, and the internal structure of the bridge was very simple.
Murasame-kai space cruiser Saratoga
Space cruiser of the United Earth Defense Forces equipped with a Wave Engine
The Murasame-kai class space cruiser was one of the main ships of the Earth Federation Defense Force operated after the war against Garmillas, a modified Murasame equipped with a Wave-Motion Engine. It was built for the new formation of the naval fleet, which was carried out immediately after Yamato‘s return from Iscandar. It is deployed by space forces around the world, and some ships have English names.
Saratoga is one of such ship of the Murasame-Kai class. It has the identification number U.N.C.F.-00538-2201, and was deployed with other vessels of the same type in the operation to recapture the 8th Floating Continent. However, it was unable to continue the operation due to damage, and attempted to return to Earth by long-distance warp along with sister ship Defiant (U.N.C.F.-00485-2201).
However, they were tracked by Gatlantis’ Kalaklum class battlecruiser, which allowed the enemy to reach Earth. Saratoga and Defiant were sunk when they came into contact with the Kalaklum upon warp-out.
Performance Specifications
Class: Space cruiser
Length: 152 meters
Armament:
1 28cm positron shock cannon
3 20cm positron shock cannon turrets
4 torpedo tubes
Hull Structure
The Murasame-Kai is based on the Murasame class, and there are no major changes in the hull structure<. The most significant feature is the conversion of the main engine to a Dimensional Wave-Motion Engine, which enables hyperspace navigation and deployment of a Wave Barrier. The namesake prototype ship was launched in 2170, and although its design was undeniably old, it functioned well enough for practical use.
Armament and gimmicks
In conjunction with replacement of the main engine, the weaponry was replaced by a positron shock cannon with enhanced power. The bow positron impact cannon has been enlarged to 28 cm (the original was 20cm), and the three high-pressure amplified beam turrets mounted to the front and rear of the bridge and under the ship were replaced with positron shock cannons. The torpedoes carried on board are also a new type.
Experimental Wave Ship Ginga
A sister ship of Yamato equipped with the Cosmo Reverse system
The experimental Wave Ship Ginga is the third ship in the Yamato class of the Earth Federation Defense Forces. The Cosmo Reverse system (CRS) brought back from Iscandar by Yamato during the Battle of Garmillas was transferred to this ship.
It was originally an experimental ship designed by Shiro Sanada to analyze the CRS, which had completed its role in Earth’s regeneration, and to research the application of Dimensional Wave theory. At the same time, this ship was also given the purpose of researching the development of next-generation naval vessels. However, it was converted to military use as the battle against Gatlantis escalated.
The most important feature of the CRS is its ability to control Wave Energy, and it exhibited various effects by resonating with surrounding Wave Cores. Construction of this ship proceeded at a rapid pace in the Time Fault factory before the invasion of the solar system by Gatlantis. It was deployed as the core of the reinforcement fleet in the Battle of Saturn. After that, it continued to support the front line in the battle.
However, it lost its CRS function during the Battle of the Mars Absolute Defense Zone. Some of its equipment was transferred to Yamato, after which was moved to the rear of the fleet.
Performance Specifications
Class: Wave Energy research vessel
Identification number: BBY-03
Name: Yamato class 3rd ship Ginga
Length: 333m
Armament:
3 46cm triple-barreled positron shock cannons
12 torpedo tubes (bow and stern, port and starboard)
16 missile tubes (both port and starboard)
Concealed anti-aircraft system (various parts of the ship)
Hull Structure
The CRS is a device installed in the corresponding location to Yamato‘s Wave-Motion Gun compartment. Ginga‘s main purpose is to study the CRS, and it adopted a method of duplicating the basic structure of Yamato. As a result, it was designated a Yamato-class ship. All of its systems were copied, including the Dimensional Wave Superstring Jump Engine. Except for the Wave-Motion Gun, its main artillery is the same as Yamato‘s, but the weapons malfunctioned due to CRS interference, rendering them unusable.
Unique Structure
Ginga adopted the hull structure of Yamato while incorporating its own unique structure as a Wave-Motion experimental ship. A prime example of this is the command tower section in the center of the hull. A huge dome, installed behind the second main gun, houses a research facility for developing new technology that converts Wave Energy (research into Wave Core amplifiers and energy concentration & aggregation). In addition, an autonomous control system with command AI has been introduced.
Ginga
The Wave-Motion experimental ship Ginga was designed for research on the development of next-generation naval vessels. It duplicates the main body of Yamato, including the Wave-Motion system (the same goes for the second ship, Musashi). Since it specializes in research and utilization of the CRS (Cosmo Reverse System), transferred from Yamato, it carries less armament. Also, due to the CRS, the main guns could not be used as firearms.
Superstructure
Ginga‘s superstructure is larger than that of Yamato, characterized by its aft-sloping design. The captain’s quarters and Cosmo Radar at the top of the command tower were removed. A mobile compartment for takeoff/landing of aircraft has been added to behind the first bridge. The interior of the first bridge is basically the same as that of the Yamato, but in order to save labor, all seats were eliminated except the captain’s seat, the XO’s seat, and the combat chief’s seat. All other sare auxiliary seats, except for the helm. The center dimensional compass was also removed. The second bridge also has almost the same structure.
Ginga is a research ship and an autonomously controlled ship
Ginga was originally a non-combat ship designed by Shiro Sanada for research into Wave Dimension theory using the Cosmo Reverse System (CRS). However, as the Gatlantis invasion of the solar system became a reality, the Earth Federation Defense Forces focused on the Wave Energy control function of the CRS and decided to deploy this ship to the front line.
At the same time, while in the process of organizing an unmanned fleet, the military assigned this ship to serve as a prototype. Those two aspects of the ship – a research vessel for Wave Dimension theory and a pioneer of the next generation with command AI and autonomous control – both influenced its hull design. This gave it a structure very different from that of the prototype Yamato.
This is most clearly seen in the superstructure, where the area around the command tower is distinctly different from other vessels. Furthermore, while the interior was based on Yamato‘s design, it was modified to accommodate the introduction of a command AI, which reduced labor. However, the end result was an insane future in which humans were reduced to “parts,” leaving everything to the AI.
Type 1 Space Combat Attack Aircraft
Cosmo Tiger II + prototype exterior warp unit
Experimental additional equipment that allows small aircraft to warp
Among the options for the Type 1 Space Combat Attack Vehicle Cosmo Tiger II, one with a particularly noteworthy function is the experimental external small warp unit. It is an option that literally makes the Cosmo Tiger II warp-capable. This equipment was developed in the course of research into space jumps for small boats and spacecraft, which was carried out at the same time the Wave-Motion Gun fleet concept was proposed. The purpose of this research was to develop new tactics such as ultra-long-range reconnaissance and surprise operations.
Initially, a small aircraft with warp capability was sought, but because of the difficulty of miniaturizing the Wave-Motion Engine, a method of exterior mounting on a small aircraft was adopted. Research and development progressed at the lunar base’s Experimental Space Equipment Group. Several prototype units with project names such as Luna, Mars, and Jupiter were developed.
As a result of test cruises by unmanned vehicles and android-piloted aircraft, warp experiments to arbitrary coordinates were successfully conducted. However, there were many problems in practical application, such as limiting the number of warps to two, and the need to build a new supply ship. As a result, although the equipment did not go beyond the experimental stage, it was brought to Yamato by Saburo Kato, and was used in the Battle of Gatlantis.
Airframe Structure
There were several prototypes of warp units for small aircraft. The one Saburo Kato brought to Yamato during the Battle of Gatlantis was a type called “Ju303E.” (Its use was not unauthorized; it was unsealed by order of the Earth Defense Forces Command.) It is much larger than the Cosmo Tiger II, but also the smallest class of warp-capable Earth equipment. A Cosmo Tiger II is connected to the tip of the unit, but it does not seem to be freely adaptable.
Deployment Technology
Although a Cosmo Tiger II has warp capability, it is not equipped with a Wave-Motion Engine due to its size. Instead, it adopts this huge engine pod structure with nuclear reactors and subspace coils. Although the warp range is shorter compared to ships such as Yamato, a range of a few light minutes is no problem. However, warping is limited to two jumps (assumed to be outbound and inbound). In the Battle of Gatlantis, Kato joined up with Yamato and Tsurumi used it in the Telezart landing operation.
Type 1 Space Combat Attack Aircraft
Cosmo Tiger II B (bomber type)
Derived from the Cosmo Tiger II with emphasis on anti-ship and ground attack
One of the variations of the Cosmo Tiger II, the new mainstay fighter aircraft that was formalized after the War with Garmillas, this model emphasizes anti-ship and ground attacks. The Cosmo Tiger IIB is a type 1 space fighter attack aircraft (bomber type) that was deployed at the end of the Battle of Gatlantis. During the Battle of Saturn, some of the mass-produced models belonged to the aircraft carrier Antares, and shortly thereafter were deployed with Yamato in its final battle specifications.
The bomber type, like the torpedo attack type that appeared at the same time, carries a crew of three. One of these three crew members serves as the gunner of the newly constructed double-positron beam turret on its back. The characteristic of the bomber type is limited air combat capability since it was designed with a bias toward anti-ship and ground attacks. As a carrier-based aircraft of the Earth Federation Army, it seems to have had top-class performance in these categories at the time.
In the final battle against the Comet City Empire, it was believed that Yamato needed enhanced anti-ship and ground attack capabilities. However, less than half of the aircraft remained when they entered the Golem, and almost none of them survived.
Performance Specifications
Length: 15.8m
Width: 8.8m
Height: 2.9m
Engine: 2 Cosmo engines, composite radial type
Crew: 3
Armament:
2 space torpedoes (under wings)
8 30mm pulse laser machine guns (under fuselage)
6 12.7mm machine guns (in the wings)
1 positron machine gun (in the nose)
1 double-barreled positron beam gun turret (on the back)
Airframe structure
The main changes from the single-seat type are the double-seat nose, the installation of a dorsal dual-positron beam gun turret, and the tuning of protective field characteristics for anti-ship attack. Torpedoes and anti-ship missiles are provided for anti-ship operations. Ground missiles and Cosmo bombs are provided for ground attacks. Anti-ship attack and anti-ground attacks are two different missions, but the bomber type can perform both. Its distinctive dark brown coloring makes it easy to distinguish from the double-seated type.
Variants
The Cosmo Tiger II, which produced both a double-seat type and a bomber type, was originally designed with the development of variants in mind. Among them, the effect of a protective stealth field, which provides stealth properties independent of the shape, had a great effect. This proved that variants with larger changes to the aircraft’s shape could be realized. At the end of the Gatlantis War, large scale variant types were put into practical use. One variant, the Comet Probe [A.K.A. Cosmo Python], was deployed on a space carrier.
