Go Yamato! The enemy is the Dark Nebula Empire, 400,000 light years away!
One day in the year 2202, a huge missile-like object rapidly approaches Earth and makes a soft landing. Soldiers dressed in black also descend from the darkness. It is the Dark Nebula Empire’s invasion of Earth. Kodai and the other crew members of Yamato escape from Earth, which is under enemy invasion, and head to Yamato on the asteroid Icarus.
The mysterious missile is called a Hyperon Bomb. If it explodes, it will destroy all human brain cells in an instant. The only way to defuse the detonator is to go to the enemy’s home planet, the Dark Nebula Empire, 400,000 light years away.
Yamato takes off. After eliminating the enemy’s intermediate base, Yamato enters continuous warp, and what awaits them is a dark galaxy 100,000 light years in diameter. Moreover, they are attacked by the enemy’s floating fortress and the Dark Nebula’s Third Mobile Fleet…
What about Kodai? Yuki? And Sasha?
A drama of love unfolds with a new enemy…
Yuki is injured during the escape from Earth and is unable to board the speedboat. She is left behind and captured by enemy officer Alphon, who tells her, “If you accept my love, I will teach you how to dismantle the Hyperon Bomb.”
Kodai, who she should rely on, is with Yamato in the far reaches of space. Yuki believes in her love for Kodai, but her anguish is deep.
Sasha, who was raised as Sanada’s niece, participates in the battle against the Dark Nebula Empire as a communications officer for the Yamato Life Team. In the middle of the journey, Sasha breaks down in tears upon hearing of the death of her father, Mamoru Kodai. Her mother, Starsha, also died in the battle against the Dark Nebula Empire. Carrying the drama of various loves and sufferings, Yamato is caught up in a whirlpool of turmoil.
