REBEL 3199 Mecha guide, part 2

Prototype dimensional submarine Cosmo Hound

A special ship that can travel back and forth between normal space and subspace, and can navigate in both. It is capable of observation and reconnaissance across the realms of normal space and subspace. Dimensional submarine technology was put to practical use on Garmillas, and was brought to Earth in the form of technology licensing.

The stabilizing wing is equipped with a multi-dimensional phase ballast tank for breaking through dimensional boundaries and diving, just like a dimensional submarine. In an emergency, it can be forcibly removed and floated back to normal space. The structure that separates the main body and stabilizing wings is due to the fact that the Cosmo Hound was developed based on the concept of a multipurpose transport boat. It was used in combat during the “Iscandar Incident,” proving its usefulness.

After the “Iscandar Incident,” it was used as a test boat to collect various data, and then was deployed as a carrier-mounted boat on the Asuka-class supply carrier Asuka. At this time, the hull is equipped with self-defense armament similar to that of the Type 5 Armored Personnel Boat, which was also developed based on the multipurpose transport boat concept. The Type 5 Armored Personnel Boat, which has a variety of units attached to its main body and has a high degree of versatility, is based on the MC type with cargo and containers, as well as the ACA1 and gunship types for ground attacks and local control. There are various variations depending on the purpose.

Length: 39.4m
Main Engine: Modified Dimensional Wave Engine + Ga-200 type Dimensional Submergence Device

Auxiliary Equipment:
Cosmo Turbine x 2 (for normal space navigation and dimensional diving)
Linear spike type Cosmo engine x 1 (for normal space navigation)

Armed:
General purpose small caliber pulse laser gun x 1
Dual pulse laser cannon x 2

Chapter 2 update:

After collecting various data as a test boat, it was deployed as a carrier boat for the Asuka>-class supply ship Asuka, and after Operation DAD was issued, it headed to the Presidential Palace in the new capital and accommodated the Yamato crew. It was not armed during the tests, but when it was made into Asuka‘s carrier boat, the hull was equipped with self-defense armaments equivalent to those of the Type 5 medium transport boat.

After Yamato and Asuka joined up at the Icarus Observatory, it was transferred from Asuka to Yamato. During the third remodeling, which envisioned intergalactic voyages, Yamato was made capable of carrying support ships, and the second hangar was extensively remodeled. The Cosmo Hound was stored here and became Yamato‘s carrier boat.

Launching takes place from the launch and landing gates located on the rear port and starboard sides. Dimensional diving and surfacing are not possible inside the hangar. This is because the dimensional boundary surface is in a so-called “undulating” state due to the influence of the Wave Engine.

Chapter 3 update:

Subspace

Subspace is a β-space defined as an “open topological space” in topological space theory, and is separated from normal space (α-space) by a dimensional boundary surface. Subspace is characterized by the self-interference of quantum energy fields, which causes resonance amplification at certain wavelengths.

There is a depth from the dimensional boundary surface in subspace. The deeper it goes, the higher the energy density becomes, and the greater the virtual pressure called “dimensional pressure” increases. In addition, there is a nonlinear relationship between the distance traveled in subspace and the apparent distance when projected into normal space, with the distance error increasing with depth (UX-01 and Cosmohound use shallow depths for dimensional diving, so the distance error between subspace and normal space is small).

In addition, when a ship with the characteristics of normal space is placed in subspace, an energy difference occurs between the ship and the quantum energy field of the subspace, causing energy to flow from the ship into subspace (reverse energy gradient phenomenon). The Gesh-Val engine installed on the UX-01 and Cosmohound puts the hull into a “topological insulation state,” trapping energy and preventing it from spreading into subspace.

General-purpose spatial transport aircraft SC97 Cosmo Seagull

A twin-boom tilt-wing multi-purpose transport aircraft that has been in use since the days of the United Nations Space Navy. The main wings equipped with engines rotate 90 degrees to perform vertical takeoff and landing, and are used for transporting combatants and supplies, as well as for anti-submarine patrol missions.

Because it has Earth-class planet surface and orbital return capabilities, it is used not only by Earth’s militaries but also by the Space Navy, and is also installed as a carrier-based aircraft on Yamato and Ginga.

Total length: 19.5m

Type 5 Mobile Space Armor

Mobile armor, which was formalized in 2205, is still in use as the main equipment of the Space Cavalry Corps as of 2207. The space cavalry is infantry (marines), and the armament of its mobile armor changes depending on the mission and strategy. The Space Cavalry itself is organizationally under the jurisdiction of the Earth Federation Space Marine Corps, which is under the control of the Earth Federation Space Force, but in actual operations it collaborates with other military forces, including the Space Navy.

The Space Cavalry, which defends the new capital, is equipped with mobile armor and carries a 12.7mm standard assault rifle as standard equipment. Some members have 30mm machine gun as squad support weapons. The 12.7mm standard assault rifle is a compact bullpup type with a short overall length, making it easy to handle. The 30mm machine gun is a squad support weapon used by the one member in the squad who is in charge of heavy firepower. It has a power comparable to that of a spaceplane’s machine gun, and can take down mobile weapons, carrier-based aircraft, and small ships.

Total height: 2.09m

Main equipment:
dorsal hovering nozzle
Maneuvering thrusters (distributed throughout the body)
Main thruster (both sides of backpack)
Back mass balance control arm x 1 (driving tire and momentum wheel)

Armament:
9mm pulse laser machine gun for self-defense (right arm option)
Grenade launcher x 3, rocket launcher x 2 (left arm option)
12.7mm standard assault rifle (portable firearm)
30mm machine gun (portable firearm / squad support firearm)

Chapter 2 update:

It was integrated with the ground forces against the Dezarium invasion of the new capital, and is currently cooperating with Dezarium under the orders of the Defense Forces Command, and is responsible for security activities in the new capital.

The basic movement of the mobile armor is bipedal running and walking by the movements of the wearer, but it is also possible to wheel-dash using the perpetual crawler tracks on the legs. It can accelerate suddenly by bending the waist (instant dash), moving the crawlers and legs like roller skating (medium-low speed drive), and run by using the wheels equipped on the mass balance control arm on the back, in addition to the crawlers on the legs (high-speed cruise). It can also make super-tight turns by utilizing the dual crawlers equipped on one leg. It can also deploy the crawlers during normal walking, and run at high speed with long strides by increasing the length of the legs themselves and the joints in the toes.

Unmanned fleet command ship Gladiator

A command ship that is the core of a limited autonomous air defense system. Operates and controls the small unmanned interceptor ship Ajax. Unlike Ajax, it is manned, but all operational functions are concentrated on the bridge, making it possible to operate with a minimal number of people.

The Air Force had assumed that this ship and the accompanying interceptor would use fighter-like hit-and-run tactics. This ship was developed and constructed with high maneuverability and mobility that can surpass that of Space Navy ships.

Armament:
Separated muzzle Wave-Motion Gun × 1 (bow)
Quadruple pulse laser turret x 8 (both sides)
Triple swivel turret x 2
High-explosive missile launcher × 4 (both sides)

Chapter 2 update:

The command ship Gladiator, which is the core of the Limited Autonomous Air Defense System, commonly known as the Unmanned Fleet, intercepted the Grand Reverse with the 49 unmanned Ajax-class ships under its command, in Earth orbit, following the issuance of “Operation DAD.” However, during the operation, the system went down and the unmanned fleet stopped functioning. Gladiator was heavily damaged in an attack by the Dezarium fleet, and the crew escaped.

Although it was spared from destruction in battle, Dezarium judged the remaining Ajax-class ships, which had lost control, and the heavily damaged Gladiator to be worthless in terms of military power. The abandoned unmanned fleet is now drifting in Earth orbit.

Unmanned Fleet Interceptor Ajax

A small unmanned interceptor ship, part of a limited autonomous air defense system. It is operated by the command ship Gladiator. Codenamed “Bulbul,” a total of 49 ships accompany the Gladiator and form the fleet.

The Limited Autonomous Air Defense System is envisioned as an air defense force for each planet, but since it is also intended to collaborate with air forces, it is not assumed that the ship will operate within a planet’s atmosphere. (Flight within the atmosphere itself is possible, and it also has the ability to return to and from the atmosphere.) Since Ajax is an unmanned ship, it has higher maneuverability than manned ships, and uses hit-and-run tactics against its targets.

Armament:
Small Wave-Motion Gun × 1 (bow)
Triple large rotating turret x 2
Triple missile launcher x 2 (both sides)
Interceptor missile (large anti-ship/anti-fortress missile) x 6 (attached to pylon ring)
and many others

Type 1 Space Combat Attack Aircraft Cosmo Tiger II

This machine was developed and standardized under the Next Generation Main Carrier Tactical Fighter Attack Plan [CT Plan] based on the Wave-Motion Gun Fleet Concept, and production and deployment began in 2202. As of 2207, it is the main fighter of the Earth Defense Force.

Because it has significantly improved attack power and combat performance over the Cosmo Falcon, which had been used since the days of the UN Forces during the Garmillas War, ground forces other than the Space Force have gradually replacing the Cosmo Falcon with this machine.

The ground-based Cosmo Tiger II has its main engine and various parts adjusted for operation in the atmosphere.

Length: 16.6m

Main engine: composite radial flow type cosmo engine x 2

Armament:
30mm pulse laser gun x 8
12.7mm machine gun x 10
Missiles (ground-to-air missiles modified depending on the mission) × 2 (under wing)

Chapter 2 update:

It is also installed on the Space Battleship Yamato, the Asuka-class supply carrier Asuka, and the Hyuga-class battle carrier Hyuga, but all of them have eliminated the previous high-mobility unit. The replacement unit is a new piece of equipment that provides the same mobility as before with just one component, and is installed on the central pylon of the fuselage. In place of the previous high-mobility unit, two missiles are equipped on the pylon on the outside of the fuselage.

The air squadrons of each ship are given call signs. For example, Yamato‘s initial letter Y means “Yankee,” and Asuka‘s initial letter A means “Alpha.” Kodai, who was transferred to the Asuka crew, was given the call sign “Alpha 1” as tactical chief. In addition, the aircraft aboard Asuka has a red vertical tail. When Kodai reunited with Asuka, the aircraft he was aboard had originated from Yamato, and thereafter became his aircraft.

Type 99 Space Combat Attack Aircraft Cosmo Falcon

A local fighter plane for the absolute defense of Earth, which became the standard in 2199 at the end of the Garmillas War. It was developed and mass-produced by the United Nations Ground Forces, Far East Space Combat Group, and the Space Technical Arsenal, but since it is equipped with a composite flow type cosmo engine (Ryusei Type 35) and can operate both inside and outside the atmosphere, it was adopted as a carrier-based aircraft by the United Nations Space Navy and also used for air defense missions on the moon.

It is known for being used as a carrier-based aircraft for the Space Battleship Yamato on its journey to and from Iscandar due to a delay in the mass production of Cosmo Zero (the carrier-based aircraft was a repurposed aircraft deployed to the United Nations Ground Forces). The performance of space planes that do not use wave engine technology is comparable between Garmillas and Earth, and the Cosmo Falcon achieved a certain level of success in anti-air combat.

After the Garmillas War ended, the Type 1 Space Combat Attack Aircraft Cosmo Tiger II was officially adopted as part of the Next Generation Main Carrier Tactical Fighter Attack Plan (CT Plan), which was devised as part of the “Wave-Motion Gun Fleet Concept.” Once the mass production system was in place, the Cosmo Falcon gave up its position as the main carrier-based aircraft.

After the Gatlantis War ended, the Cosmo Falcons were gradually replaced by the Cosmo Tiger II in other defense forces other than the Space Navy and were mothballed. The anti-Dezarium resistance obtained these aircraft and used them as a fighting force. For this reason, the unit insignia and aircraft number were removed.

Length: 15.9m
Width: 6.8m
Main engine: composite flow type cosmo engine (Ryusei 35 type)

Armament:
Machine gun x 2
Machine gun x 6
Air-to-air/air-to-ship missile x 8
