Pleiades-class Offensive Battleship and Hyades-class Destroyer
See the original post here
Today, I’ll be talking about the Pleiades-class Offensive Battleship and the Hyades-class Destroyer.
In the original work, the Pleiades’s strength was overwhelming, and its main guns were ineffective, allowing it to be destroyed only by a Wave-Motion Gun. Furthermore, it was a large ship by original standards, measuring 360 meters in length, 328.7 meters in width, and 350 meters in height. In the original work, Yamato was 265.8 meters in length, while Dessler’s ship was 235 meters, making Pleiades the largest warship in the series, excluding the super-giant battleship of Gatlantis said to be 8 or 12.2 kilometerslong.
Although it lacked powerful offensive weapons like a Wave-Motion Gun, its standard main guns alone had the destructive power of Yamato‘s main guns.
Also, perhaps influenced by Star Wars and other things, the design deviated from the Earth-like designs that had been used up until then and was suitable for navigating space (putting aside the criticism that there’s no need for bridges in space).
Furthermore, the speed of the escort ships is prominent, and the fleet’s concept seems to be to use their speed to confuse the enemy and then annihilate them with the powerful firepower of the Pleiades.
I think that at the time of Be Forever they were the strongest interstellar nation in Yamato‘s history. The Wave-Motion Gun is ineffective against Goruba and the Dezarium home planet, so it would be impossible to defeat the White Comet, which can also withstand it.
What’s more, the Dark Nebula Empire is arrogant and possesses a powerful military, but they also have the underhanded habit of pretending to be Earthlings from the future. I think they are the worst enemy in Yamato‘s history.
Currently, in 3199, there are six Gorubas and six fleets attached to them stationed on Earth. Will all of these fleets leave Earth to pursue Yamato? Will Dezarium’s ground forces be left behind as in Be Forever and defeated by Earth’s partisans, whose only weapons are rifles? I thought that scenario was a bit sloppy, so I hope they put a bit more thought into it in 3199.

Official Trailer Review
See the original post here
I’ll write my thoughts on the official trailer for REBEL 3199 Chapter 4: Pale Blue Maiden, which was recently posted.
First of all, after being rescued by the Galman-Garmillas Empire, Sasha is expected to become a second Starsha on the Garmillan Empire’s home planet, but she feels that is a burden and rejects the offer.
Next up is Captain Ram, and as I wrote last time, the “Witch of Uralia” is a threat to the planet Berth, which is probably why it’s subordinate to the Bolar Federation. Bolar likely protected the planet from the Uralia Witch, and in exchange, the Berth fleet undertakes the seemingly reckless invasion of the Garmillas home planet.
Next, Lieutenant Commander Alphon is fighting someone, carrying not only Fleur but also Tsubasa. His opponents are likely Earth partisans, but Tsubasa was friendly with Fleur even amid the conflict between Earthlings and Dezarians, so he is probably caught up in the partisan attack. The Dezarians are cruel and underhanded, but Lieutenant Commander Alphon is likely a person filled with a sense of justice that transcends racial conflict.
In Yamato III, the Garmillas home planet was attacked by the Bolar Federation’s warp missiles, and in 3199, the Berth fleet will likely invade the Garmillas home planet and fire planet-destroying missiles. Based on Captain Ram’s words, it seems likely that a detachment from the Berth Star Fleet will act as a decoy to distract the Garmillan fleet.
As such, there is no fleet defending the Garmillan home planet, and they are likely using a reflective satellite cannon to intercept Captain Ram’s main force. Despite suffering heavy losses, Captain Ram will likely reach the range of the warp missile and successfully launch it.
Sasha and Yamato will work together to save the ship from this dire situation, and Sasha will likely board Yamato and head for Dezarium’s home planet. Dezarium is plotting to capture Sasha, so it would be safest for her to remain aboard Yamato.
That’s likely to be the general plan, but how will Kodai meet Captain Ram? A scenario like Yamato III, where the Garmillan fleet invades the area near Planet Berth and the defeated Captain Ram appears near Earth, is unlikely.
When Chapter 3 was released, I thought six months until Chapter 4 was too long, but now it’s only two months away. I can’t wait for Chapter 4!! I’d be happy if Garmillan ships appear in Chapter 4!! Everyone, please be sure to watch 3199!!

What is the true identity of the Uralia Witch?
See the original post here
The Uralia Witch said that she exists at the center of the galaxy. Normally, there should be a black hole at the center of a galaxy, proportional to the size of the Milky Way.
I believe that the home planet of Dezarium exists in another universe. I also think that our universe and the universe where Dezarium exists are connected by a wormhole.
Could it be that the universe where Dezarium exists is contaminated by wave energy, and that this pollutant-like substance is released into our universe every time Dezarium travels here? I predict that the planet Berth belongs to the Bolar Federation because it is unable to remove the pollution on its own.
“Uralia” is probably another name for Dezarium, but the “Witch” probably has something to do with Mother Dezarium. It could be because you can hear something like a witch’s screams when Dezarium appears.
As I wrote before, Dezarium’s first goal was probably to capture Iscandar, take it to the universe where Dezarium exists, and return that universe to its original state using Cosmo Reverse. However, Iscandar self-destructed, so this plan failed.
For Dezarium to create its own Cosmo Reverse, it likely needs a pure wave core and Sasha, who is of Iscandar royal blood. So, at this stage, it’s likely they’re trying to capture Yamato and Sasha, create a Cosmo Reverse, and return Dezarium’s universe to the state it was in before being contaminated by wave energy.
If that fails, as a Plan B, they’ll probably use the Grand Reverse to initialize the Earthlings’ brains and write the Dezarians’ memories into their bodies in order to obtain physical bodies. The Dezarians’ bodies are probably mechanized because their flesh would not be able to withstand the contamination from wave energy. It’s probably because of this Plan B that they don’t massacre all Earthlings and take control by force.
When you think about it that way, it also makes sense why they try to deceive Earthlings and make them their allies, and why they incite conflict with the Garmillan Empire.
However, unlike Gatlantis, which invaded Earth with overwhelming military power, Dezarium remains a small-minded people who only use cunning tactics. Earth, the Garmillan Empire, and the Bolar Federation have all suffered great damage at the hands of Dezarium, so in theory, I think these three nations should be able to form an anti-Dezarium alliance.
However, Dezarium has deceived the Earthlings and turned them into their allies, pitting them against the Garmillan Empire, while the Garmillan Empire and the Bolar Federation are so preoccupied with their own war that they have no time for war with Dezarium. Looking at it from another perspective, Dezarium might be quite skilled at diplomacy.
But seeing Dezarium, with that hideous appearance, pulling off such scheming tactics makes me feel nothing but hatred. I think the Garmillan fleet should go to the Dezarium home planet, fire the Hyper Dessler Cannon repeatedly, and kill all the Dezarium people.
But personally, I like the Bolar Federation, so I would like them to make peace with the Garmillan Empire by recognizing their claim to half of the Milky Way Galaxy and handing over Boroze and Rebarus to them as an apology for their rudeness to President Dessler.
Chairman Bemlayze and First Secretary Darya both add great character, so it would be a shame to have them die.

Thoughts on Daisuke Shima
See the original post here
In the original Yamato, Shima was a prominent character, playing both Kodai’s best friend and rival. In Yamato 2, he had significant screen time, thanks to an episode with Teresa. However, after that, he became somewhat overshadowed. I don’t think it was necessary for him to die in the final installment, and it felt like his death was forced just to give him a scene.
However, in the remake, there were too many characters in 2199, making him less prominent, and in 2202, his story with Teresa was eliminated, making him a completely minor character.
In 3199, there will be more episodes featuring Domon and Ageha, and it looks like Nanbu will also have an episode, so I have a feeling Shima will become even more overshadowed.
In the original, the hot-blooded Kodai and the calm Shima made a great contrasting pair, but in the remake, Kodai seems much more subdued. However, in the original, Kodai tries to kill a Gamilas prisoner of war, which has a strong Showa-era feel to it and is unacceptable in modern times. We were kids back then, so we thought it was understandable that he would try to kill the prisoner after his family was killed, but seeing it as an adult, we think it shouldn’t be the conduct of a professional soldier.
I’ve said this many times before, but I think the original had too many people die. In 3199, I think it would be better if Sasha, Yamanami, Domon, and Ageha all survive and that Shima survives until the end as well. Death moments might be what a realistic war would be like, but I think the tactic of having someone die to elicit tears is outdated.
I’ve gone off on a tangent, but I would like Shima to appear more in 3199 so that he doesn’t get any more overshadowed. I don’t know why, but Nanbu is given preferential treatment in the remake, so I would like to see Shima appear a little more.

Thoughts on Shiro Sanada
See the original post here
Today, I’d like to write about Sanada.
First of all, Sanada’s voice is particularly well-matched, even in the remake. I think that Koichi Yamadera, who plays Dessler, and Houchu Otsuka, who plays Sanada, are particularly well-matched in the remake.
I believe that Dezarium in 3199 exists in another universe. That’s why the term “space-time node” comes up. I don’t know if Yamato will go to Shalbart to obtain the technology to access the other universe, or if Sasha will provide Iscandar’s technology and Sanada will build it.
However, I wonder if they would go all the way to Shalbart to deliver Princess Ruda, especially when Earth is in dire straits and they need to head to the Dezarium home planet as quickly as possible. Personally, I think that including the story of Shalbart in 3199 would take too much time and make the story unclear, so I think the Shalbart episode from the original will likely be omitted.
That’s why I think it’s more likely that Sanada and Garmillas engineers will create it on the Garmillas home planet with technology provided by Iscandar. It’s certainly not something that Sanada could easily create on board Yamato. (LOL)
There’s also the battle with Grodez, so I expect Sanada will have a role there as well.
Also, in the original, I wondered why Sanada was raising Sasha when her father Mamoru was still alive. Common sense tells me that since she’s the beloved daughter of his beloved Starsha, it would be strange for him not to raise her. If Mamoru couldn’t raise her because of his job, then Sanada, being single and working, probably couldn’t raise her either.
Plus, Mamoru dies quickly, leaving Sasha behind. As the only parent left, I think Mamoru should have survived for Sasha’s sake, no matter what. Even if he isn’t around in 3199, it still feels strange that Sanada would become Sasha’s parent, overshadowing her only living relative, Kodai. I wonder if there will be an episode that makes up for that?
Sanada always appears in technical scenes, so unlike Shima, he doesn’t get overshadowed. I’m looking forward to seeing Sanada in action in Chapter 4!
