This is the third Yamato playback, and it will be a hit again this year

LIBERATION

Three years ago in the summer, an anime boom suddenly occurred. It goes without saying that the catalyst for this boom was Space Battleship Yamato.

Of course, the foundation for the boom was there, but who would have expected it to become so enthusiastic and to last so long? Even Producer Nishizaki, who became the “man of the hour” with this work, would never have dreamed of such an outcome.

In any case, Yamato is now gathering popularity and support that was unimaginable when it first appeared on TV. After Farewell to Yamato in 1978, the series was supposed to be discontinued. In response to the fans’ support, Producer Nishizaki changed his mind and made the telefeature The New Voyage in the summer of 1979. He is now making the new Be Forever Yamato because the fans’ voices were so strong.

Unlike previous works, this Yamato is not a sequel. If I had to say so, I think it could be called a sequel to the telefeature The New Voyage, but it is a work with a new concept.

As usual, there are plenty of highlights. What does Yamato see beyond the mysterious Dark Nebula? What is the true identity of Sanada’s beautiful niece Mio, who has joined Yamato? And what will become of Yuki Mori, who is separated from Kodai and falls into the hands of the enemy? The story unfolds in a breathtaking way that no one can predict. Even if you are not an anime fan or a science-fiction fan, you will be excited by the mecha and settings that are the result of outstanding ideas.

One “Aha!” point of this movie is a big surprise featuring a mechanism called Warp Dimension, the first time in anime history! What exactly will happen is being kept secret until the movie is released, so unfortunately, I can only say that some kind of phenomenon will occur in front of the audience. I don’t think Yamato will fly out of the screen, but I can’t wait for the movie to be released, since this is a series that has never disappointed us so far.

The movie will be released on August 2nd, but I wonder how many days in advance people will start lining up in front of the theater this year?
