Bizarre fashion trend I see all over the place in Kabukicho: eye bags. Everywhere you see an ad image with a young cupcake, she’s got eye bags. I think it’s meant to look like she’s been crying, which opens up access to both your sympathy and your wallet. Or to test whether or not you’re a replicant, maybe. To me it feels like another version of artificially distressed clothing; if you don’t actually have life experience or emotional depth, just cosplay it instead.
