When Yuki Mori awakes, she finds herself in the official residence of Alphon, an intelligence officer of Dezarium. Though confused by Alphon’s intentions of not interrogating her and allowing her to act freely, Yuki decides to stay with the “enemy” in order to gather information. Trusting in Kodai’s survival and the health of Yamato, Yuki perseveres in her lonely battle. She does not yet realize that her actions are conveying to Alphon the “true nature of humanity.”..

To Susumu Kodai, she is his niece and his only surviving relative. Sasha is considered an “important being” who conveys the essence of the Iscandar civilization, and in order to keep her away from Dezarium, she was hidden and raised on the asteroid Icarus under the command of Shiro Sanada. “We humans will never bend the knee to those who demand our surrender. Even if they are our own future.”

In preparation for the coming day, Yamanami formed a pecial task force under the direct control of Director Todo, and was leading the secret hiding and renovation of the flagship Yamato at the Icarus Observatory. As the ships under his command were captured one after another by Dezarium, Yamanami finally decided to launch Yamato. He led the battle as unit commander, and defeated Goruba•Enam. Although he often makes cold-hearted decisions, he has a deep sense of trust in the younger generation.

There are rumors that he is engaged in research to find out the true identity of the unknown enemy “Dezarium”…

Chapter 1 update:

Current assignment: Unknown

“Assemble, assemble on Yamato.” The mysterious message leads to the new Space Battleship Yamato, quietly waiting for its time to set out. No one knows yet where that place is, but one thing is certain: the greatest mind on Earth, Sanada Shiro, is there. And beside Sanada should be Sasha, Starsha’s only child, who has grown into a beautiful young woman.

Chapter 2 update:

“There’s no place for Mio — for Sasha – on Earth right now. So we’ll have to protect her aboard Yamato.”

Realizing the possibility of an attack by Dezarium in search of relics of the Iscandar civilization, Sanada hid Yamato, which possessed a pure Wave-Motion Core, and the last Iscandarian, Sasha, and prepared for that day at Icarus Observatory. The “greatest brain on Earth” is still alive and well, as seen in the numerous renovations to Yamato on this voyage and his ability to discern the true nature of the Grand Reverse as a “hyperon bomb.”

Chapter 3 update:

“Attention, this is your XO. We are about to enter the Orfe Region.”

Yamato‘s First Officer and Chief of the Technical Department boasts the greatest brain on Earth. Even after his late best friend’s daughter Sasha and his right-hand woman, Kaoru Niimi, were kidnapped by Dezarium, he remains calm and collected in his duties. To both rescue the two kidnapped people and analyze Dezarium’s technology, Sanada devises a “transparent battleship capture operation” that utilizes the environment of the Orfe region. Kodai was held responsible for the “Iscandar Incident” and dismissed as captain. Shima was transferred to the Air Force. The Space Navy and Air Force have completely different ship design concepts and operational methods. Daisuke Shima, content with being treated as an outsider, is now trying to find his own path in the Air Force.

Chapter 1 update:

Captain of the Gladiator, a command ship for the air defense system

The Limited Autonomous Air Defense System, commonly known as the “Drone Fleet,” was developed independently by the Air Force using Shima’s expert piloting techniques. The reason behind Shima’s transfer to the Air Force was due to Serizawa’s decision to be wary of a “Dezarium traitor” lurking within the Space Navy. After two years of dormancy, Daisuke Shima now captains the command ship Gladiator, the lynchpin of the Unmanned Fleet, and takes on the Grand Reverse. However, an unexpected pitfall awaits them.

Chapter 2 update:

“Sanada-san took over. I’m no longer XO.”

Having tasted the bitterness of defeat as commander of the “Unmanned Fleet,” Shima is reunited with Yamato deep within the asteroid Icarus, which sits in the asteroid belt. Excited at the prospect of taking the helm once again, Shima launches the new Yamato out of a storm of rock explosions. But just as the signal for rebellion against Dezarium rises, Susumu Kodai is relieved of his position as captain of Yamato and abandons the ship. Shima wonders, as a friend, what can he do for Kodai now?

Chapter 3 update:

“We’re taking the back alley, you could say. The Bolar won’t bother us, and since we’re jumping outside a spiral arm, there’ll be less interstellar medium to deal with.”

Though worried about his friend Susumu Kodai, who has hit rock bottom, Shima dares not say anything. He just watches from afar as Kodai becomes a member of the Air Corps. That’s “trust.” Shima continues to silently steer Yamato with feelings for the friend, with whom he shared life and death, in his heart. Daisuke Shima is entrusted with the helm of Yamato as it continues to navigate the most difficult places in space: the “devilish Orfe region” with swirling gas and electrical discharges, the “Subspace Corridor” that bypasses the Sagittarius Spiral Arm, and the “Cadenza System” that is a torrent of high-temperature plasma.

Chapter 3 update:

“I’ll leave that role to you…take care of Yamato, Kodai-san…!”

He has a deep connection with Dr. Sado, and his head is still enshrined in Sado’s home.

Second model: A legitimate successor machine that inherits the memory data of Yamato‘s autonomous subframe AU09 (first generation Analyzer), which was destroyed during the Gatlantis War. Although it was developed as a “replacement part” with the same functions and memories as the first generation, he seems to be at a loss as to whether he is the same as the first generation. Is it really a coincidence that the rollout date is February 1st, the same as the first generation Analyzer? Is this some sort of revelation?

Chapter 1 update:

“Gather! Gather at Yamato!”

Yamato‘s new independent subframe calls out from the dark bridge of the Space Battleship Yamato. It is the legitimate successor to AU09 (original Analyzer), which was destroyed during the Gatlantis War, and inherits its memory data. The day when he will meet Sakezo Sado, who is holding on to the head of the original Analyzer with care, is approaching.

Chapter 2 update:

“You can all do it. So can Yamato, of course.”

Like its predecessor, he is active, riding along with the Cosmo Hound and supporting operations. It is always positive, but also has a more sensitive side than humans. The biggest worry for him is that Dr. Sado doesn’t call him “Analyzer.” Even though he has inherited the memories of his predecessor.

He is particular about making delicious lemon tea. During the training voyage to Iscandar, he took the “problem child,” Ryusuke Domon under his wing and re-educated him as a supply officer. Faced with an unprecedented situation in which Earth has been conquered, he is concerned about the safety of Susumu Kodai, who was relieved of his position as captain of Yamato and retired from the ship.

Voice: Shigeru Chiba

Former Yamato chief medical officer, medical division
Rank: Lieutenant Colonel or equivalent (military)
Date of Birth: October 1, 2144. Libra, 63 years old.

Former Yamato doctor and Chief Medical Officer. He is an all-rounder who knows the limits of medicine and the impermanence of all things better than anyone else. He drinks heavily and never lets go of his bottle, but his skills are top-notch. He has many admirers for his unconventional way of dealing with people, such as quietly offering a room in the medical section as a place for new recruits to relax and turning a blind eye.

After the reorganization of the 65th Escort Squadron, it seems he’s no longer serving in the fleet.

Chapter 1 update:

Current Director of the Sado Clinic

Although he is a heavy drinker and has a tendency to be nasty, he is loved by all the crew as an all-around excellent doctor and is the “eldest member of the Space Battleship Yamato.” Following the reorganization of the 65th Escort Squadron, he left military service and devoted himself to his role as director of the Sado Clinic.

Sado, who knows better than anyone the value of life and the impermanence of things, has been quietly enshrining the souls of his late friend Analyzer and his beloved cat, Mii-kun (who died at a ripe old age) in his home, in the hope that they will rest in peace.

Chapter 2 update:

“No… Analyzer is right here.”

When Dezarium invades, he escapes Earth and boards Yamato again. There, he unexpectedly encounters the “successor to Analyzer,” the AU19R. Sado was initially confused and rejected the AU19R, but…

“Hey, AU09. What happened to your leg?”

Miyako Kyozuka

Voice: Tomo Muranaka

Former Yamato Medical division, Medical Officer
Rank: Third Lieutenant
Date of Birth: March 3, 2187. Pisces. 20 years old

She first boarded Yamato during the training voyage in 2205 AD. She has been trained by Chief Medical Officer Sado with strict but loving care. After graduating from the National Defense Academy, the ship she was officially appointed to was not Yamato, but Ryusuke Domon and Heiji Bando were there.

Even though she is extremely busy, she never forgets to pay attention to her fellow classmates. As such, she is the “lifeline” of the 38th class of the National Defense Academy.

Chapter 1 update:

Currently a medical officer in the medical department of the supply carrier Asuka

The deep bond between Kodai and Yuki that she witnessed during the Iscandar Incident has become Miyako’s “ideal image.”

I wish we could be like that too. Like Captain Kodai and Captain Mori…

Who is the “we” that Miyako is thinking of? As the battle with Dezarium intensifies, Miyako must come to terms with the love she harbors in her heart.

Chapter 2 update:

During the Dezarium invasion, she is instrumental in helping the old Yamato fleet crew escape. After arriving at the Icarus Observatory, she is transferred to the new Yamato. She is referred to as the “lifeline” of the 38th class of the National Defense Academy, and even though she is extremely busy, she never forgets to pay attention to her fellow classmates Domon and Bando. The same goes for Takeshi Ageha, whose whereabouts have been unknown for a long time.

Chapter 3 update:

“I feel so much better. You look so much better, too, Ageha-kun.”

After joining the new Yamato, she was reassigned to the hygiene department. Although she is extremely busy with her daily duties, she never forgets to keep an eye on Domon, Bando, Tokugawa, and other National Defense University classmates. The same goes for Takeshi Ageha, whose whereabouts were unknown for a long time, but she blushes when he curses, saying “Not everybody likes Domon the way you do.” She repays that debt to Ageha, who was almost lost in the subspace corridor.

Although she doesn’t say much, she is happier than anyone else that Domon and Ageha have rekindled their old bond.

Akira Yamamoto

Voice: Rie Tanaka

Tactical division, Wing Commander
Rank: Lieutenant First Class
Date of Birth: June 13, 2179. Gemini. 28 years old

Yamato‘s Wing Commander, admired by her subordinates who nicknamed her “demon.” During her time with the 65th Escort Squadron, she provided thorough guidance to the “problem child” Shigeru Sakamoto. She patiently explained to him that overconfidence in one’s own abilities leads to death. After the escort squadron was reorganized, she was secretly transferred to Icarus Observatory. She trained new recruits such as Takeshi Ageha and nurtured the new Yamato air force. With the number of aircraft that can be carried by Yamato now limited, maintaining its air power is Yamamoto’s responsibility.

Chapter 3 update:

“That’s why I want to share with him something certain, something that won’t be betrayed. But it’s not as easy as you’d hope.”

After transferring to Icarus Observatory, she devoted herself to training the new Yamato Air Corps. She is troubled by the “mental problems” faced by newcomer Takeshi Ageha. Just then, Susumu Kodai is relieved of his position as captain. Yamamoto proposes that Kodai, who has nowhere else to go, be reassigned to the Air Corps, and takes on the custody of her former superior officer.

Sho Sawamura

Voice: Yuya Chikaki

Deputy Commander of the Tactical Air Force
Rank: 2nd Lieutenant
Date of Birth: March 4, 2179. Pisces. 28 years old

Deputy commander of the Yamato Air Force. He used to be the youngest airman in the squadron, but is now in a position to organize the younger members and encourage them to return alive. Although he feels a generational gap in the attitude of Takeshi Ageha and the others, he doesn’t suppress them more than necessary. He is loved by the new recruits as a cheerful, tough, and important older brother figure.

Takeshi Ageha

Voice: Yuto Uemura

Rank: Third Lieutenant
Date of Birth: January 11, 2187. Capricorn. 20 years old

A student of the 38th class of the Space Defense Academy, a child prodigy who rose to the top of the flight department with the highest score in the history of the academy. In a mock air battle, he won 9 out of 9 games without allowing Shigeru Sakamoto to score a single point. He became the subject of many legends, but two years ago he dropped out of Space Defense Academy and disappeared, leaving Domon and his friends behind.

Perhaps because he grew up as the heir of the huge corporation Ageha Conglomerate, he has a unique sense of distance when it comes to socializing with others. He got along strangely well with Domon, and the two had such a bond that they called themselves “best friends.”

Chapter 2 update:

Yamato Tactical Department, Air Officer

“Not everyone likes Domon the way you do.”

Although he had a close bond with Ryusuke Domon that could be called “best friends,” he had not heard from him for a long time after dropping out of the National Defense Academy. He has a unique sense of distance when interacting with people, and there is no hint of condescension in what he says. His reunion with Domon gets off to an eventful start.

Chapter 3 update:

“I thought I would never share anything with someone else in my life. So you…”

A Yamato air force member with genius skills. He is the heir to the Ageha Group. His mother was killed by her “compatriots” during the Garmillas War, so he has a lonely and complicated side.

During his time at National Defense University, he built an “invisible wall” around him, but Ryusuke Domon was able to easily overcome it. The two developed a bond and could be called “best friends,” but a certain incident caused their relationship to cool. Still harboring that resentment, Ageha and Domon reunite on Yamato, and once again connect with each other through their voyage.

  1. Nice guide! I hope Akira Yamamoto makes it through 3199. I’m actually kinda surprised she still has the red suit on but I do think it’s the best suit and it fits her perfectly. I was hoping for a different color suit but I’m ok with it. I still would love to see a spin off sequel with her as the main character with Melda in it as well.
