Don’t shy away from the stigma of “rebellion”

Yamato is finally on its way!!

Solve the mysterious message! Kodai, Sanada, and others are panicked in the face of a crisis in space. However, the Earth Defense Forces Command is slow to react. Thinking of the trip to Iscandar, Yamato now takes off, prepared to be called a “rebel”!

The White Comet Empire, led by Zordar, is gradually increasing its speed. Of course, its ultimate goal is Earth.

On the other hand, what is the Earth side’s response? Although the newly built Andromeda (captain: Ryu Hijikata) has been dispatched to investigate the destruction of the Venus solar energy transfer station by the Naska vanguard fleet, the Earth Defense Forces command is extremely ambivalent.

Kodai, Sanada, and the others are panicked by this attitude. They are also angered by the atmosphere of disregard for the space crisis, as long as Earth is safe. What to do about the mysterious message? Kodai is convinced that only Yamato can save the Earth from the crisis.

The old members of Yamato gather one after another at the undersea dock. Sanada, Tokugawa, Aihara, Ota, Nanbu… None of them have been ordered to come. They all decide to board Yamato of their own volition and confront the space crisis.

However, Defense Force headquarters senses this movement and orders everyone to leave the ship. Those who disobey the order will inevitably be punished as traitors. To prevent the ship’s departure, the gates to the undersea dock are closed. However, Yamato steadily prepares to launch. Not a single person leaves the ship. Daisuke Shima, who had been hesitating until the very end, also gets on board along with Yuki, Sado, and Analyzer.

Finally, it is time to launch! The water inlet opens, and the dock is filled with water. Acceleration…forward…the ship breaks through the locked gate by crashing into it. Yamato successfully dodges magnet missiles, patrol aircraft, and attack satellites deployed by the command center to stop it. Yamato leaves Earth and flies toward the source of the Message.

It is a daring departure, stigmatized as a “rebellion” to protect the peace of the universe.

Fateful confrontation?

A close encounter! Yamato and Andromeda

Andromeda tries to stop Yamato, but Yamato is not budging an inch. The two powers, new and old, are about to collide!

Yamato takes off from Earth, and on the way, it is intercepted by the Lunar base air force (led by Saburo Kato, a member of Yamato‘s former Black Tiger squadron). But the Defense Command has not given up yet. They have already given orders to Andromeda, which was at Venus, to stop Yamato at all costs.

Andromeda intercepts Yamato near Mars and orders them to stop. Hijikata tries to persuade Kodai, but Kodai does not listen, and Yamato is deployed for battle. An emergency alarm sounds. Yamato and Andromeda point their main guns at each other. Yamato accelerates and approaches Andromeda at a rapid pace. Yamato passes near Andromeda‘s main guns as if it was going to hit.

Hijikata does not press the button to fire. Instead, he sends a message to Earth: “We have found no sight of the Yamato.” In fact, he even sends a message saying, “I wish your ship good luck and the best of luck to Acting Captain Kodai and his crew.”

Collision is avoided! Yamato‘s crew waves to Andromeda and flies away.

Yamato mini news

Space Battleship Yamato has appeared on a New Year’s postcard campaign since December 1. A poster includes the catch phrase, “New Year’s postcards should be sent by December 20, 1979.” This poster was made by the Kanto Post Office of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, but unfortunately it is only displayed in the Kanto region.

Planet 11 base destroyed. Captain Saito and other survivors are successfully rescued!

Naska fleet is destroyed!
Dessler pursues confrontation

Following Venus, the White Comet extends its hand to Planet 11. The Earth base protected by the Space Cavalry is at the front line against the Naska fleet. Yamato, hurry up! Yamato‘s battle is about to begin with shock cannons.

After avoiding a clash with Andromeda, Yamato receives a different SOS message. It is from Earth’s Planet 11 base, which is under attack by the White Comet’s Naska fleet. Planet 11 is important for the White Comet to establish a forward base. Yamato must come to the rescue!

The Naska fleet does everything in its power to stop Yamato, thinking it can crush Yamato in one fell swoop. However, they have underestimated their enemy; the battle against Naska’s fleet is surprisingly easy for Yamato, which has been powered up by a major remodeling. The Naska fleet crumbles before the extended-range main guns (shock cannons) and bow missiles.

Meanwhile, the ground base on the 11th planet is struggling. In addition to a missile attack from the Naska fleet, the base is bombarded by ground forces, mainly tanks. Captain Saito of the 7th Special Forces Battalion of the Space Cavalry and his men desperately try to resist, but they are running out of ammunition and oxygen. The enemy’s encirclement slowly closes in.

When Yamato sweeps away the rest of Naska’s fleet and lands the lifeboats, the number of survivors on the ground base, including Saito, is down to just over 20. After successfully rescuing Saito and the others, Kodai and his crew receive a message from the commanding officer: “I am taking command of you and Yamato…please proceed with your original intentions.”

The stigma of the insurgency is lifted. They can now focus on finding the source of the message and fighting the new enemy. Yamato leaves Planet 11 at full speed.

Meanwhile, Naska, who barely survived, reports the defeat to Dessler. “You’re right, Yamato is a formidable enemy. I don’t know what to do…”

Naska is scared. Dessler is confident that he is the only one who knows and can beat Yamato. Confrontation with Yamato is what he lives for. Dessler’s fleet awaits Yamato‘s arrival at planet Telezart, the source of the message.
