Yoko-san, also known as “Momoe-chan” in the voice-over world, is a definitely a strong older sister!

Yoko Asagami

This fall, Yoko-san is going to transform herself into an even more gorgeous woman!

1. “Kodai-kun!” with those big round eyes shining. She has grown in both popularity and ability through her role as Yuki Mori in the Yamato series.

2. Did you hear that lovely voice of Claire at the theater this summer [in Galaxy Express 999]? Claire’s voice is impressive as she scatters into space with a hint of love for Tetsuro.

3. Every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., Yoko-san appears on Youth Boulevard (Nippon Cultural Broadcasting). A really relaxing mood. You can hear her “real self”!

4. Yoko Asagami reading at the Voice Actor Theme Song Festival (August 29 ~ September 2) at the Nichigeki Theater in Tokyo.

During a break in Nichigeki’s Voice Actor Theme Song Festival I was able to successfully interview my favorite Yoko!

Yoko says she has wanted to be a voice actress since she was a child.

“I loved anime because of the bold movements that don’t exist in real life, and the image that spreads through the voice…”

But just liking it is not enough to keep going. Currently, Yoko is working on a type of joruko (song) called “itchu-bushi” and she practices Jiuta-mai (a kind of pantomime) 5-6 times a month. Both were recommended to her by her seniors as a way to study acting.

She is also “self-taught.” On her days off, she goes to the movie district in the Shibuya area of Tokyo. She concluded by describing herself:

“Actually, I’m really a sweetheart and selfish. And stubborn.”

She laughed mischievously.
